Sent the calls to voicemail.
What we’re doing to her is borderline psychotic. It’s all part of the mind games Luca likes to play with her. He enjoys watching her squirm, and sometimes, I do, too.
I’m sitting at a table with Luca and Bash, hanging out in the corner of the room away from the other students. Alex hasn’t noticed us yet. My pretty little Pet is at the bar, drinking a craft beer with an artsy-looking guy. He’s wearing ripped jeans, sneakers, and a white T-shirt that has colored graffiti on it.
The polar opposite of me.
He reminds me of Aiden Wellington. But this guy has short, brown hair that flops onto his forehead. He’s kind of nerdy and gives off weird vibes.
Well, so do I.
Alex has been hanging out with this guy a lot lately. From what we’ve read of her texts, listened to her calls, and monitored her computer, she hasn’t kissed him yet. But she’s been thinking about it. She’s upset that we left her and feels abandoned.
In our defense, we were at college, trying to pass our classes while dealing with Knights business. Our lives are not simple and never will be. We can’t have normal college student lives because we’re not normal.
After our initiation into The Devil’s Knights, Luca made a pact with all of us. Even Marcello, who he doesn’t even like. He said the four of us could share Alex in every way as long as we followed his rules.
Luca needs the marriage.
Marcello wants a baby.
Bastian wants her cherry.
And I wantthem.
We took a blood oath and promised not to fuck over the other. If Bash wants her virginity, then all of us have to be there. But none of us can get in the way of Alex marrying Luca. Marcello will get the kid he’s so desperate to have with her.
Not sure why but Marcello really wants to be a father. He’s kinda young to be a dad. But whatever. I don’t care as long as I get Bash and Alex in the end.
I’ll share her.
Teach her.
Luca gets up from the table, his eyes on Alex. “It’s time. She needs to know who owns her. And it’s definitely not that loser.”
We approach Alex as a team, and with her back to us, she has no idea we’re coming. The artsy guy drinks from his beer and then puts his hand on Alex’s thigh. I think about snapping his wrist in multiple places, so he can’t use his hand again.
Luca grips the guy by the shoulder and yanks him off the bar stool.
“Hey, what the fuck?” Alex’s date throws up his hands in front of his face like he’s ready to fight. But judging by his frame, he wouldn’t land one punch on any of us. “Who the fuck do you think you are, asshole?”
Luca gets in his face, his eyes menacing and intense. “I’m her fiancé.” He grips the man by his shirt collar. “And if you ever touch my woman again, I’ll kill you and feed your entrails to my fish.”
“Luca!” Alex flies off the stool and shoves her palms into his back. “Get off him! I”m not your fucking fiancée, you psycho.”
“Youaremine, Drea.” His top lip curls up into a snarl. “I let you have your fun at college. But I have been watching you, baby girl.”
“Look, man,” the guy says, hands raised. “I didn’t know she was yours.”
“I’m not,” Alex interjects, moving between Luca and her date. “Tom, I’m sorry. He’s a lunatic who thinks he can control my life. We’re not together.”
“Yes, we are.” Luca slides his arm across her stomach and pulls her back into his chest. He dips his head down and brushes her earlobe with his lips. “You’re going to be my wife.”
“No, I’m not,” she hisses. “That ship has sailed.”
“Sorry, Alex,” Tom says. “But I’m gonna go. I don’t want to be in the middle of this.”
“Wait,” she says as he turns his back to her. “Don’t leave. Ignore him. We still have to talk about our group project.”
