“I hope you liked them, since they were all for you.”
She grins and takes two steps toward me. “Even the thirst trap? I think a part of you enjoyed that.”
I can’t help but laugh. Just being with her for a few seconds is bringing me back to life, healing the hole in my heart. “I think I enjoyed the how to catch a bookworm more.” I take a step toward her, closing the distance just a little.
“How’d you convince Dante to put on a dress for that?” She steps toward me, and we’re only a few feet apart.
I can smell her, the amber and vanilla that drive me crazy. She came back. She believes me.
“He’s always ready to do something ridiculous.” My words are barely whispers as I close the distance and wrap my arms around her. “I didn’t think you’d come.”
“I didn’t know about the videos. I thought you’d given up on us. I just needed to know you were ready to give up the mask, and I’d have come running.” Her heart is pounding in her chest, but her presence in my arms is calming. She looks up at me and says, “I never stopped loving you, Em.”
I have no more words to give her. I said everything I know to say in those videos. There’s only one thing left.
A kiss.
I bend down and press my lips to Madison’s. It’s something I’ve dreamed of doing for the last week, and it’s just as perfect as I imagined. The fear and pain that’s been a constant for the last week evaporate as I get a taste.
My life has revolved around Madison Carter since I met her because she reminded me of what being free felt like. She reminded me I could be blissfully happy.
And this kiss brings it all back to me. Like we’re flying, like my chest can’t hold all the happiness inside it, and I’m going to burst.
My hands pull her closer, and the rest of the world disappears as, once again, dreams turn into reality.
When she finally pulls away, she says, “Thank God you didn’t give me a fucking thimble this time.”
And we both break into laughter. Glorious, lighthearted laughter that dissipates all the fear that I’d felt earlier.
“I didn’t spend nearly a week dreaming of giving you a thimble, Madison.”
She smiles at me and pulls away. “I hope your dreams were of more than just kisses because I was told you want to learn to fly with me. It’s time to make some wonderful memories.”
I put my hands on her waist and lift her into the air. She wraps her legs around my waist and her arms around my shoulders. “Every moment I’m with you is a wonderful memory, but it sounds like you have a specific thought in mind.”
She grins at me. “I was told that you were extremely qualified in the screaming orgasms department, so we might start there.”
Chapter 59
Emery
“Set Brandon up as the other trainer.” Madison leans back in her chair with a grin on her face. “He gets it as much as Stephanie does. I don’t plan on using your hands off approach while everyone is still training, so I can help him if he runs into problems.”
Madison looks so perfectly at ease in her new office next to mine. ChitChat and other social media platforms are now officially hers. Noah and I agreed that she should have complete control over them, and she deserves an office next to mine to command her teams.
“That’s your call. Just make sure that you don’t hurt Brandon and Stephanie’s bonuses by making them trainers. The last thing you want to do is lose your seconds-in-command.” I don’t even mention the fact that other companies will suddenly become competition if they pick up either of them.
“Definitely. They’ll be getting a cut of every ChitChat campaign they’re a part of. They’re as invested in our success as we are.”
How did I get lucky enough to find a woman that not only fits me perfectly but also fits my company perfectly?
“Well, I’ll leave it up to you. Run your numbers by me just so I can give you my thoughts on them, but otherwise, it’s your branch of the company to run.”
She nods, and I turn to go through the connecting door between our offices.
But she stops me. “Em.”
I turn around to look at her. The smile is gone. “What?” I ask, a little concerned.
