“Because! For some reason, just the mention ofyou-know-wheremakes me want to gag. Hard.”
Ah, morning sickness at its finest. She really is pregnant.
I sit back. “Okay, okay. I won’t.” I decide to change the subject immediately because I see Liv already turning green. “Hey, so Declan told me there’s going to be a bachelor party for Roger.”
Liv raises an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah?”
I nod. “Yeah. They’re going to a strip club. Dec said Rachel is forcing Rog to go, even though he doesn’t want to.”
“I see.” She tilts her head to the right. “How do you feel about Declan going?”
I take a moment to think over the whole idea of it. Then I shrug. “Surprisingly, I’m okay with it.”
Liv smiles with a wide-open grin at me. “Good. But it shouldn’t surprise you.”
“If this were Todd, I’d be a nervous wreck.”
She nods. “It’s not Todd, and because you’re feeling the way you are about Declan going to a strip club, it should tell you something.”
I grimace. “That I’m naïve?”
She chuckles. “No, woman. That he’s trustworthy and you have no reason to worry about him, even if he is going to be surrounded by naked, gorgeous women.”
I giggle. “Yeah, that’s actually what I said when he told me. I trust him. With my whole heart. It’s crazy how different things are with him than they were with Todd.”
She nods again. “Yeah. That’s because this is a good relationship. What you had with that dickwad was toxic.”
I laugh. “So true.” I pause for a second and then ask, “So, you said you had something for me?”
Liv smiles. “Yes! But first, I want more details!”
I furrow a brow. “More details? About what, Todd?”
She takes a sip of her water. “No! Fuck that dickwad! I want more details about your date with Declan, silly.”
I blush reluctantly, and I know the smile on my face is evident. “I told you everything about it. It was perfect. I couldn’t have pictured a better way to spend the night.”
She smirks. “I know all that. I mean details aboutthe deed…how was it? Is he as good as he looks like he would be in bed?”
I almost spit out my drink. Okay, yeah, I should have been expecting that from my best friend, but for some reason, it caught me off guard.
Images of my night with Declan come crashing to the front of my mind. Mmmm, he definitely is as good as he looks he would be.Yum…
“Okay, yeah. I think that answers my question,” Liv speaks. “That look on your face right now says it all.” She chuckles.
I let out a light giggle. “I’m sorry. I got taken away for a second there as soon as you asked me that. But yeah, there’s no point in avoiding the topic… he was amazing - and you can take that however you want it, because damn, it was fire!”
She bursts out in laughter. “Thatta girl! That’s exactly what I wanted to hear!”
I smile when I finally catch my breath. “I’m really so happy, Liv. Everything with Declan is so wonderful.”
She smiles back widely. “Giules, I’m so fucking happy for you! It’s about damn time you found yourtruehappiness. Your happily ever after.”
My happily ever after?
Yeah.
Absolutely.
