“Zander, you’re scaring me. What’s going on? Why do you look scared?”

“You’ve got to tell me where she is; it’s important.”

She moves over so I can come in. Once I do, she closes the door and walks in front of me through the house. I follow her to her kitchen.

She stops when she gets to a counter next to the stove and leans against it. “She was here, but said she was stopping at her old apartment to grab her things. She said she was ready to officially move out here, that there’s no reason for her to go back to Narrowville.” She pauses for only a moment and asks, “But what’s going on?”

“She forgot her phone at my place when she left. She received another message.”

Her eyes widen. “Another one of those creepy stalkerish type messages?”

“Yup. As a matter of fact, I noticed another one from a few weeks before. It was a video of her and I in the car. She told me if any more would come through, she’d tell me or report it, but I had no idea.”

“Yeah, she told me the same.”

I suck in a breath. “I need to find her. She could be in trouble.”

“What do you mean?”

I go to the messages on her cell phone and pull up the picture of her in my hoodie to show Lissa. “This was right after she left my house. She took that hoodie from there before she left. Someone has been watching her every move.”

She looks at the phone and examines the picture. Then she plays the video and reads the message on there. “Oh my God…. son of a bitch….”

“What?”

“This message. From YHWZ… I know who it is.”

“Who?” I ask, heart racing.

She looks up at me and says, “It’s Walter, and we’ve got to get going. She’s definitely in trouble.”

I don’t follow. “Walter? How?”

“YHWZ… he used to call himself ‘your husband Walter Zeller’ to her all the time when they first got engaged and he was trying to be funny… I can’t believe it didn’t dawn on her.”

A cold sweat forms down my spine as the realization sets in. “Oh my God.”

She grabs my sleeve. “Come on, we’ve got to hurry before we’re too late.”
