“You know it is.”
“Well, let’s see what we can do about that before our guests arrive.”
“Let’s see indeed.”

HANNAH
Otto, Fallon, and Briggs arrive not long after I’d tucked Case back into his pants. The look in his eyes every time I go down on him never fails to turn me on. Lust mixed with adoration and need seem to be the perfect aphrodisiac. Sometimes, I hate the chemistry between us because it’s so damn good, so damnaddicting—it’s going to be impossible to leave.
Briggs commandeers a bowl of chips upon arrival, and Otto hasn’t stopped touching his wife since they walked in.
“When are you supposed to hear back about that job?” Fallon asks casually as she takes the tinfoil off the top of her taco dip.
“It should be any day now.” I meet Case’s eyes across the room and a sudden pulse between my legs has me gasping. It stops as quickly as it started, and Fallon raises a single eyebrow. I give her a weak smile and send up a silent prayer she couldn’t hear the buzzing over “Hope it’s Hot Out” by Kyle Clark.
“Are you okay?” she asks, and I pop a strawberry into my mouth with a nod.
“Of course.”
“Are you still on the fence on what you’re going to do if you get the job?” I had to field a less pleasant version of this question earlier from my mother who couldn’t understand why I would have any doubts at all. She didn’t understand, but neither do I.
I don’t get the chance to respond to Fallon because Waylon, Marlee, Hank, and Isla all come bursting through the door carrying an obscene amount of food.
“Sorry we’re late; Isla had to pee,” Marlee says and Isla bumps her out of the way with her hip.
“I did not, you brat.” Her laugh is full and carefree as she places the plate of brownies on the island. “My husband had to do his hair.”
“You’ll pay for that later, wife,” Hank says on a growl that is loud enough for me to hear as he brushes past her to set his own stack of containers on the counter.
“Can’t wait.” They share a molten gaze and I melt a little inside. I look up and meet Case’s gaze across the room, followed immediately by the most glorious buzzing between my legs. I don’t dare take my eyes off his even as my lips fall open on a silent moan. The vibrating barely stops before Marlee is launching herself at me.
“I can’t believe you might be leaving us!” she says as she throws her arms around me. I hug her back and laugh.
Rhea walks in with Sorren in tow and a knowing look on her face. She shrugs like she didn’t tell every person here about my potential job opportunity.
“I don’t want you to leave, sue me,” she says before pulling me in for a hug.
“So the whole town is on team keep Hannah in Clementine Creek?” I say on a laugh and she grins. “Just wait till Miss Thelma gets here.”
Mock gasping, I take a step back. “You play dirty.”
“You have no idea.”
We laugh and I greet more people as they filter into the house and out to the backyard. In all my life I can’t remember a single gathering like this being held for me. I’m not so naïve to think that the Thayers wouldn’t throw a party simply because it’s a Wednesday, but I won’t lie and say this doesn’t feel…nice.
My drink is halfway to my lips when a gentle pulsing dances over my clit. It’s the kind of feeling that promises of thorough attention and long drawn out pleasure.
It’s also waking up the orgasm that’s eluded me since Case and I started this little game. I’m so freaking turned-on right now and so damn frustrated I want to scream. We have a house full of people and heknowswhat he’s doing to me.
Hell, I agreed to it.
“Aunt Hannah?” Briggs’s little voice startles me out of my lack-of-orgasm spiral, and I turn a genuine smile on him.
“Hey buddy, what’s up?”
“Uncle Case said I have to ask you if we can have a sleepover. I like staying with Uncle Case but there’s never been a girl here before, just boys, so I have to ask if it’s okay.”
