Damn.
Ding.
This time, when I look toward the door, an older version of Waylon stands hulking in the entrance.
“Hey Hank. I set the muffins aside; just ask Ella.”
Seemingly resigned, Hank walks over and holds out his hand.
“Hank—Rhea’s brother. It’s Hannah, right?”
I shake his hand and nod. “How did you know that?”
“I saw Waylon in the parking lot.” Hank is ruggedly good-looking with dark hair pulled back into a knot at the base of his skull. His beard is neatly trimmed and he just exudes sex. A black band sits on his ring finger, his thumb playing with it as he stands here.
Also, what is in the water down here?
“Hank, can you take a look at Ella’s car? Her battery is givin’ her trouble again.”
His eye twitches the slightest bit.
“Traitor!” Ella yells, and I can only assume this has been an ongoing issue. “I was gonna bring it to you this week, I swear,” she says as Hank turns to look at her, his expression one of complete disbelief.
“I’ll take your keys with those muffins,” he says pointedly to Ella before looking back at us. She grumbles but puts both items on the counter.
“I’ll see y’all later. Isla said Mama wants to do a dinner this weekend.” His eyes soften the slightest bit, but whether it’s the mention of Isla or his mama is unclear.
“Yeah, Waylon mentioned that. I just texted Mama,” Rhea says.
He nods and gives us a brief wave before talking to Ella and then heads for the door.
“Isla is his wife.”
“Lucky girl,” I quip and Rhea chuckles.
“She’s a boss. You’re going to love her.”
We talk a little more until the chime over the door sounds again.
Ding.
Looking up, I sigh as another devastatingly handsome man stands in the doorway. He grins immediately, and it’s absolutely adorable. He’s totally related to the other good-looking men who had just sauntered into the shop and to the woman sitting across from me.
“Hey there! You must be Hannah. Your aunt said you’d be stayin’ in Clementine Creek for a while. I’m Otto—Rhea’s brother. The good-looking one.” He winks.
Dear Lord—man is as beautiful as he is exhausting and he’s only been here thirty seconds.
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“Everyone treatin’ you okay?”
“Everyone has been really nice.” I don’t mention the incident with Case and the girl at the Tap and Table my first day in town. “I met Waylon and Hank just now.”
“Good, good.” He turns to Rhea. “Did you hear about dinner at Mama’s?”
“Would it surprise you to know that WaylonandHank have both mentioned it?” Rhea says wryly.
He chuckles as he turns from his sister to me. “Sounds about right. Fallon is going to love meetin’ you.”
