His calves are muscled and covered in a light dusting of brown hair. I wonder what they’d feel like tangled with mine. Would they be scratchy or smooth? My core clenches in response.
I’m attracted to his body hair now. Perfect.
My friends and I each claim a lounger on the wooden deck while Owen tucks himself into the vegetation on an upright chair in the shade.
“I need to cool off.” I toss my towel, sunglasses, and phone on the lounger and step onto the sand. “Shit. It’s hot.”
Sara squeals. “Come on. Let’s go!”
The three of us run straight to the ocean, diving in once the water meets our waists. The cool water feels heavenly as I swim underneath the waves. This is exactly what I needed.
I pop out of the water and fling my hair back in a streak of red and pink. My hairstylist came to the house to touch it up before I left so the colors are more vibrant.
“This is epic,” Sara says, bobbing in the waves.
“A little too chilly for me. My balls are now inside my body.” Ziggy shivers.
“Baby.” I splash him, and he returns fire.
We play around for a while, and though I try to stay present with my friends, I’m constantly aware that my stoic protector is watching, so I give him a show he doesn’t even know I’m putting on. Making sure to flash him my ass when I mermaid dive into the water, I adjust my top in a way that exposes much of my tits and pose my body in the most flattering positions, wondering if I’m turning him on or if he’s too focused on watching our surroundings. It’s hard to tell with those aviators on.
“Stand on my shoulders and dive off,” Ziggy says.
“Okay.”
He stands with his back to me and lowers to his knees underwater. Using my finely honed balancing skills from cheer, I place my feet on his shoulders and grip the sides of his head. Once he’s fully upright, I teeter as I stand.
We cheer when I straighten up and pose in a bow and arrow, a position where I pull my right leg up with my left hand until it’s behind my head.
I release the pose and, raising my arms above my head, push off his shoulders and dive in.
“That was awesome,” Ziggy says when I resurface.
“And that’s why Katina will never be cheer captain.” Sara lifts her chin.
“Exactly.”
“I’m so glad your dad suggested we do this. I can’t believe we have three whole days here.” Ziggy lifts his face to the sky, absorbing the lingering sun.
“Do we have any plans, or will we just hang out here?” Sara asks.
“We can go shopping, do an excursion, whatever you guys want.”
“Shopping sounds fun. Let’s do that tomorrow,” Sara says.
“What about the clubs? Think Cujo will let us go dancing?” Ziggy asks, using the nickname I gave Owen so long ago.
“I doubt it, but maybe I can talk him into it.” Dirty images of me doing things to him to get my way race through my mind. I wish it were like that. Instead, I’ll have to resort to begging.
Owen
Unfortunately, Corey ignored my suggestion to cancel the mini-vacation, and now I’m in Mexico. Although the reasons I gave him were solid, I had ulterior motives. The real reason is lying on her stomach atop a lounger, wearing yet another tiny bikini that completely exposes the juiciest ass I’ve ever seen.
It’s like she’s purposely taunting me, getting back at me for pulling away from our kiss at The Grove. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking when I kissed her for the second time, but when she told me she wanted my lips to be the last ones to touch hers, I was in full agreement. I wanted that too. It was yet another stupid move, and I’m sure she’s suffering from all the mixed signals I’ve thrown her way.
I can’t change my mistakes, but I can control my actions from now on.
“Here you go.” Brandy hands me a drink with an umbrella in it.
