Fuck no, he was going to kill me. Really?

I trashed on my seat, trying to get my hands free. They were tied with a cloth. It felt like I could actually remove them if I tried hard enough. It meant that he didn’t care. I was just a weak little girl. He could take me down without the bindings.

Tears formed on the side of my eyes. “You cannot get away with this,” I said. I needed him to know. Maybe he would let me go if he came down from the edge.

“I can,” He hissed between his teeth, looking like a snake. “Because I didn’t kill you, Priscilla. Your husband did.”

 What?

Fuck, what kind of game was he playing? I never believed Michele was smart, but maybe I underestimated him.

I trashed a bit more, and the guy next to me slapped me across the face. “Stay still.”

Damn, it hurt. Tears in my eyes got free. “Why are you doing this, Michele?” I cried. I felt hopeless but, at the same time, tried to stay alert. I was not as stupid as he thought. I needed to get away from this.

 I didn’t want to die.

Michele again turned on his seat and gave me murder eyes. “Because it is what I fucking deserve. He keeps treating me like trash, but I am better than him. He fucking married a Russian. He doesn’t deserve to be Capo.”

I shook my head. “You can never beat him. He is too strong for you,” I spat on his face.

Michele opened his mouth to reply, but then his eyes focused on something behind me. “Fuck,” he cursed.

Oh, something good for me then. I turned my head and immediately recognized on the car behind us.

 Dario.

 Yes, Dario.

A huge grin erupted on my face. “You cannot win this. They are coming for me.”

Michele cursed again and turned to his driver, telling him to lose the guy. I knew it was not possible. Dario was excellent with cars. When he came inside the restaurant to rescue me, he even almost did it. He put up a good fight.

As they carried me to the vehicle, Michele stayed back to stop him. I heard gunshots and thought he was gone. I thought he could not follow us, but he surprised me in the best way. He was going to rescue me. I was not alone.

“First that mutt, now the bodyguard. You always have a puppy following you, don’t you, Priscilla?” Michele said with a hateful voice.

At first, I couldn’t grasp it. My head was too focused on Dario.

 But then it hit me.

“No,” I whispered to myself. Even as he kidnapped me. Even as he told me he was going to kill me, I didn’t want to accept it. Yet it was crystal clear. “You sent the man that attacked me.”

“Of course,” he said like I was stupid, like I should have expected my brother to kill me. “And you ruined fucking everything. This could have been done so much earlier.”

Words boiled my blood. I threw myself the front seat and trashed, trying to get to him. “You killed my baby!” I screamed. I wanted to kill him now. I wanted to destroy him.

The guy beside me tried to hold me, but I went crazy. My cheeks were wet with tears. I didn’t stop. Not even when he slapped me again.

 “You killed my baby!”

I trashed and trashed. I got slapped. The guy even pulled me back by my throat. It didn’t work. I only stopped when realization dawned on me.

He was going to kill my baby again. This time along with me.

“Please,” I begged, motionless on the back seat.

“I need your death,” Michele said more to himself than me. I couldn’t react anyway. “No one overthrows a Capo during peaceful times. I need the right setting, and you are going to help me get there. If Antonio kills you, war will erupt, and I can rise.”
