Alto and Hayze roll a piano out of nowhere and Bronx hops up on the bleachers. Dom pulls a remote from his pocket and the lights above dim as he walks out, Kylo and Hayze right behind him.
Delta lowers to the piano seat, Ander right beside her, and the two begin pressing on the keys at the same time.
I don’t know a lot about this type of music, but I know enough to know they’re damn fucking good, and it sounds even better when Bronx starts singing from where she sits.
I’m frowning from one to the next, confused as shit when my girls’ fingers fold over mine. I turn, finding her smiling up at me, dragging me to the center of the room.
I lift a brow, but she only laughs, shaking her head.
Rocklin places her hand on my bicep, moving mine to her waist, and then she lifts our connected hands on one side.
My lips twitch as I catch on, roughly tugging her into me.
She giggles slightly, pressing her forehead to mine when I lean in.
“Baby, you giving me my dance?” I whisper, my fingers spreading out across her lower back.
“I should have given it to you the night you asked.”
I nod. “Yeah, you should have.”
We sway to the music, spinning slightly, and I swing her around, dipping her back and she smiles up at me.
I glide my lips over hers, whispering, “I love you, little thief.”
“I know,” she breathes with a hidden smile. “And speaking of thieving …” She leads as we straighten and pulls the small box she tucked from where she hid it under her skirt. She smirks up at me. “Care to share what’s in here?”
“Nope.” I take her lips with my own, and she responds instantly, her arms wrapping around my neck.
Bronx’s voice tapers off, and a moment later, the last note of the piano fades, quiet footsteps carrying the other away and then it’s just me and my girl left in here.
Rocklin closes her eyes and she sighs against me.
When her eyes open, she steps back, a strange, soft, yet anxious gleam in her gaze.
“Baby?”
“Meet me in the women’s lavatory on the Greyson floor.”
“What are you up to, Rich Girl?”
“I’m giving you everything you ever wanted by finishing what he started.” She squeezes my arm and then she turns and walks in the opposite direction.
Too curious to fight her over a few extra minutes, I do what she asks and make my way up to the Greyson floor, abandoning Hayze and Kylo, who are waiting outside the gym for me in the hall.
Slowly, I push open the door to the girls’ bathroom, the low trickle of water from the sink the only noise to be heard and I smirk to myself.
How she beat me up here, I don’t know.
I round the corner, hands in my pockets, but slow when I’m not met with a pink-plaid schoolgirl’s uniform. Instead, a cream-colored jumpsuit is before me and a tangled mess of black hair.
Jet-black hair.
The woman swipes her towel along the mirror in small, useless circles, tipping her head as she does, and shock shoots through my veins.
Suddenly, Rocklin’s words click.
She’s giving me everything I ever wanted by finishing what he—whatSai—started.
