Not only that, he’d actually seemed toenjoyit. And what he’d said after…
Not unless you ask me to.
They were the sexiest, most arousing words a man had ever spoken to her.
Quinn lifted a hand to her mouth, her fingertips lingering where his lips had just been. God, she was tempted. And it would be so easy.
The lust she’d seen reflected in his eyes those last seconds before his mouth had touched hers were a dead giveaway. He was physically attracted to her, that much was obvious. And she would have to be blind not to feel the same about him.
But good sex didn’t equal love. In fact, in her experience, it often messed everything up.
So no, she couldn’t—wouldn’t—allow herself to fall into that same trap again. Handsome, smooth-talking men were trouble. At least in her world, they were.
You’re not in your world anymore. You’re in his.
The amazing view and luxurious, multi-million-dollar mansion both stark reminders of that very point. ThiswasParker’s world, and she had no place in it.
Something she’d do well to remember.

“Hey, Ash.”Parker made his way past his living room and into his private office down the hall. “What’s up?”
“You tell me,” Asher Cross, Sydnee’s fiancé and Charlie Team’s sniper challenged.
Glancing out his window at the enigma that was Quinn Wilder, he tried like hell to remember a time when a simple kiss had knocked him on his ass like the one they’d just shared. But he couldn’t because it had never happened.
Not until now. Not until her.
“Dude, you still there?”
Though it pained him to do it, Parker tore his focus from Quinn and went to his desk. “Yeah. Sorry. Things are a little…crazy here, right now.”
“So I’ve heard.”
“Wait.” He pulled out his rolling chair and sat down. “You’re calling, so does that mean you guys are already back home?”
“Landed in Richmond about an hour ago.”
“Damn. Guess that was a quick in-and-out job.”
“Literally.” The other man snorted. “Caught the dumbass with his pants down.”
“Bet that made for an awkward takedown.”
“Syd’s washing my field clothes on the sanitize cycle as we speak.”
Parker laughed. “Bet she got a kick out of that story.”
“Never gonna live it down, that’s for sure.” Ash sighed. “Okay, man. I’ve let you stall long enough. What’s going on with your girl?”
“She’s not my girl.”But damn, I sure wish she was.“But she’s definitely in trouble.”
“You got a target yet?”
“Not a solid one, no.”
“So what do you know?”
