Once I’m in my room, I start to pace. I should go tell her what I know about Justin. I should have told her already. I thought it would make me look petty, but she needs to know. I go across the hallway and knock on the door. She doesn’t answer.

“Juno, can we talk?” I say.

No answer.

I turn the handle. It’s not locked. “Juno, I’m coming in.”

I push open the door. The bedroom is completely empty. I hurry into her bathroom – empty too.

“Goddammit,” I hiss. I can’t believe she snuck out this quickly. How did she get out of here? We’re on the second floor. Surely she didn’t go out the window. The other night when she went out her window, she was on the ground floor. I didn’t think she’d attempt it here.

I walk over to the balcony and look down. Shit, did she climb down the trellis? I stare down to the ground. It’s a long way down. I can’t understand why she was this motivated to sneak out. She could have broken her neck. I slip out of her bedroom and quickly down the steps. She couldn’t have gotten far – not in heels. I should be able to catch her.
