I nod. “I took care of it though.”
He shoots me a smile. “With your fists?”
I laugh. “Justin was a real coward. Words worked fine.”
Eli laughs. “So diplomatic. This is why I didn’t want to leave her alone. What a dick. I’d probably murdered him if I’d been there. It’s what Juno doesn’t get – so many people will try to take advantage of her. She’s rich and famous. I just don’t want her to get hurt. She sees the best in everyone, which I love about her, but frankly, in her position, that’s incredibly dangerous.”
“I know.”
“You are right. Seth is not like that, and I guess I should be thankful for that.”
“How generous of you,” I say.
“Well, it’s Christmas after all.”
Chapter Forty-Six
Juno
“Is Seth doing the lumberjackcompetition?” Eli asks as he pulls on his jacket.
I shake my head.
Eli pouts. “Does he want to? Have you asked him?”
“I did, and he said he’d prefer to watch.”
Eli rolls his eyes, and I make a face at him. “Don’t be a bully.”
Keene walks by and says, “Who’s a bully?”
“Eli.”
Eli pulls on his gloves and gives me one more look.
“I’d never,” he says as he walks toward the door.
