“It’s good to have wants, Baby. We just don’t always get them. Now go. I’ll order a pizza.”
“Can’t you do that at your place?” she asked.
“Of course. I’m just not going to.”
She thought of rebelling some more.
“Cat,” Macy said in his Dom tone. “Go now.”
She jumped and immediately went into her bedroom. Only when she was getting undressed did she realize she’d automatically obeyed him, and she didn’t like that. Would she ever get away from the submissive mentality? So far, it didn’t look good.
Chapter Six
Macy watched her go with a scowl. She looked so tired and down. He knew he caused part of that, but not all, and he would find out everything he wanted to.
After he called in a pizza, Macy got plates and glasses out. He’d ordered a liter of soda with the pizza because she hardly had anything in her refrigerator.
Trying to learn more about her, he’d snooped around when he’d gotten there and found very few personal things besides her clothes. There were no pictures or anything that might give him a clue about where she came from and what happened to her.
He paid for the pizza when it was delivered and set it on the table. Cat had been in the bathroom for thirty minutes, and it was all the time he would give her. He walked through her bedroom and listened at the door. He heard her moving around and a buzzing sound but nothing else. He knocked. “Baby, the pizza’s here.”
She didn’t answer. “Cat, if you don’t answer in the next second, I’m coming in.”
He counted to ten, and when she still didn’t answer, he opened the door. His first look at her naked back shocked him. He’d never seen so many scars on a person before, much less a woman.
She turned, holding a towel over her chest. “What are you doing?” she screeched.
“I knocked a few times and said I’d open the door if you didn’t answer me.”
“I didn’t hear you. This heater in here is loud.”
“I didn’t hear that. What happened to your back?”
She tensed. “Please leave.”
He shook his head. “No, Baby. I can’t. I have too many questions.”
“That I don’t have to answer.”
He tilted his head forward. “True, but you will eventually give me every answer I want.”
She shook her head. “Not if I’m gone.”
He took a few steps to stand before her and cupped her chin. “I don’t know you as much as I will, but I’d pay money betting you’re not a person that gives up easily. Am I right?”
“I used to be like that, but when life beats you down enough, a person will eventually give up.”
The pain that rushed through him at the thought of her not being on earth terrified him. “But you won’t give up. I won’t let you.”
“You have no say in the matter.”
“You’ve got me now, and I’ll fight anyone, even your spirit, for you.”
He stared down at her and saw the fight seep out of her. “Good girl. I have pizza. Come out when you’re dressed.”
He waited until she nodded before he turned and walked out, closing the door behind him. He took a moment to calm down because he didn’t want her to see him pissed. He never wanted her to fear him, and he knew the look on his face would scare her because he’d never been so enraged.
Macy had no idea how long it would take to find the bastard that hurt her, and he didn’t care. He’d go until he found the bastard that hurt that little woman on the other side of the door. He’d give him the same treatment and see what he thought of it, and if he knew he’d get away with it, the man would be in the ground. But he wasn’t going to do anything to take him away from her when he’d just found her.
