"Good morning," I reply, smiling back at him.
We exchange a few pleasantries before I tell him that Dante is still in bed. I explain that I have to go to work, and he nods understandingly.
"Of course, Miss. I'll make sure Mr. Dante is taken care of. Have a good day at work," he says waving me off.
I walk out of the apartment building and onto the busy streets of the city. It is a beautiful day, and the sun is shining brightly. I look around for a taxi, but there doesn’t seem to be any available. I decide to walk a few blocks to the main road and try my luck there. After a few minutes of walking, I finally spot a taxi then give the driver my home address in Richmond.
Lost in my thoughts, I can’t shake off the way Dante made me feel the night before. I’m already looking forward to the next time we would meet.
Just then, my phone rings. It’s my sister Ashlee, and I can’t help but smile as I answer. She eagerly asks about my whereabouts and what I have been up to. I share my night at the club after she had left, the music, and the great discussion, and she listens intently. But, being the sister she is, she cuts straight to the chase.
"Okay, okay, but what happened with Dante after I left?" Her voice fills with excitement.
I blush, feeling embarrassed yet happy to share my news with her. I tell her all about Dante, and how we spent the night together. Ashlee squeals with delight and teases me about it, but I don’t mind. I’m thrilled to have someone to share my happiness with.
We talk for a while, catching up on recent stories, and I finally tell her that we can finish our gossips when I return home. As I hang up the phone and pay the taxi driver, I feel a mix of excitement and nervousness.
What will Ashlee think of Dante? Will she approve our relationship? I also wonder if Dante will call me or want to see me again. The flutter of anticipation in my stomach is unbearable, and I can’t wait to find out.
When I reach my apartment and walk up the stairs, I notice a sense of calm wash over me. I’m home now, and everything is okay.
As I walk into the living room, I see Ashlee waiting for me, and we hug each other tightly. Then I sit down and start retelling her everything that had happened with Dante. As I speak, my excitement builds, and I know that this is just the beginning of something amazing.
Dante
I wake up feeling groggy, my mind still foggy from the deep sleep I was in. I scan the room, searching for Ally, but she is nowhere to be found. I call out to her, but there is no response. I lie back in bed, remembering the night before, the way our bodies intertwined in perfect harmony, the way her soft moans echoed in the stillness of the night. I call out her name again, but still no response.
I get up and stagger towards the sitting room, my eyes heavy with sleep. I notice that her clothes are not on the floor, which means she must have left already. I head to the kitchen, and to my surprise, breakfast is already made. But where is she? I search the kitchen, but there is no sign of her. As I am leaving the kitchen, Alfred walks up to me.
"Good morning, sir," he says, bowing slightly.
"Where is Ally?" I ask, my voice tense with irritation.
"I'm sorry, sir, but Miss Ally has already left," he replies, looking nervous.
"What do you mean she has left? You should have stopped her!" I grab him by the collar, my anger bubbling over.
"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know she was leaving. She just left a note saying she had to go to work," he stammers.
I release him and take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I head back to my room and call Ally. She answers after a few rings, her voice groggy.
"Hello?" she says.
"Why did you leave without telling me?" I demand, my voice laced with anger.
"I had to go to work, Dante. You know that." she replies calmly.
"I don't care! You should have told me. I woke up looking for you, and you were gone!" I shout.
"I'm sorry, Dante. I saw that you were sleeping deeply and peacefully. I didn't want to wake you up," she says softly.
"I don't believe you. You could have at least left a note." I retort.
There is a pause on the other end for a while then she continues, her voice apologetic.
"I'm sorry, Dante. I'll make it up to you," she says, her voice filled with regret.
"You better," I say before hanging up.
