I come… hard!
Electricity explodes at the base of my neck and travels down my spine, lifting waves of euphoria in my hips, before they crash back down again. My eyes shut and I lean against Hawk’s chest, depleted and exhausted.
He seems to like this flushed, breathless version of me. Within seconds, he grips me tight and thrusts upward, biting into my shoulder as he releases inside of me with a loud growl that spooks the horses.
“Fucking hell. I never realized a tractor could be so sexy.” He kisses my neck and groans gently against my ear.
“Primal paradise. I’m into it.” I smile and kiss his chest before leaning back to take in the full picture of his exhausted frame.
His hand lifts to my face as he stays buried inside of me. “Tell me you’re staying here. I need to hear it.”
I nod and wipe away a tear that’s rolling down my cheek. “I’m staying. I’m probably crazy, but what’s new?”
Hawk’s brows narrow as he thumbs away a tear. “Is that why you’re crying? Because you’re crazy?”
I can’t help but laugh. “I don’t know why I’m crying. I think it might be overwhelming happiness. Also, that was my first time so…”
His eyes widen. “What do you mean, your first time?”
“My first time. Like, I was a virgin until tonight.”
“What the hell? I’d have done something speci—”
“I didn’t want you to. I wanted everything to be natural. I’m… and you… you felt so good, Hawk.”
“You too, honey, but did it hurt? Fuck. I just went for it. I—”
“You felt great.” I smile. “I want it again right now.”
His cock hardens inside of me, and his eyes catch mine as a grin lifts onto his face. “I could make that happen.”
This isn’t the life I imagined when I pictured perfection. I always thought I’d be in a high-rise apartment with some businessman debating which leather recliner would look best next to the fireplace, but I was wrong.
I grab Hawk’s hat off the shifter behind me and land it on his head before kissing his lips gently. “Let’s see what you’ve got, cowboy.”

Six Months Later
There’s a line around the corner for the newest ice cream flavor atThe Country Dairy.Portia and her sister deliberated on the name for so long I didn’t think they were going to have time to have a sign made, but they did, and it’s been a hit.
“What are you doing here?” Portia tucks under my arm and tips up onto her toes to land a kiss on my lips. This will never get old.
“I had a break from work and thought I’d drop in to see how my girls are doing.” I rub my hand over her expanding stomach. “I also thought I’d try this new ice cream flavor everyone is raving about.”
Her brows narrow. “You hate basil.”
“Is that what this month is? You named it Muddy River. I thought maybe it was chocolate and cookies again.”
She grins. “No. Cinnamon and basil.”
“Hmm. Okay, maybe I won’t try the new flavor. Do you still have the one with chocolate and cookies?”
She nods and smiles brightly. “You’re talking about Landslide?”
I think she and her sister have more fun making up names for these flavors than anything. “Yes… Landslide. Sorry. I’ll take a scoop. Better yet, make it a double. Do you need help?”
