She grinned at me. “I think we need another shower.”
“A quick one, Spark. We’re testing their patience as it is.”
“Aww,” she pouted. “But shower sex after bed sex is my favorite.”
I laughed. “We already had shower sex.”
“That was angry sex. I want happy shower sex.” She pushed her lip out.
Unable to resist, I kissed her, sucking her lip into my mouth.
“Maybe, if you’re really good.” I gave in.
She sprang to her feet and dashed for the bathroom, only wobbling a little from the endorphins flooding her system.
Hoping this wasn’t my last time with Ember, I chased her into the bathroom.
Ember
While everything wasn’t completely right in my world, I felt a hell of a lot better after enough orgasms that I’d lost count while reconnecting with my Knight. I was also sore, but I’d take it.
We dressed, and I helped Geraint change his clothing into something a little more his style. Jeans and a t-shirt would be fine for whatever we had planned. I could always adjust it later if it turned out we needed specialized clothing. If nothing else, I was really enjoying my ability to control the shadow essence.
I couldn’t help the sheepish smile as Geraint and I finally left the bedroom. Nic and Robby sat in the main room, waiting. Nic’s eyes narrowed when he saw the bruises Geraint had left on my neck, and he faded into shadow for a few seconds before solidifying again.
My knight twitched next to me, but didn’t say anything.
Robby smirked at me. Or maybe he was smirking at Geraint. Either way, Nic was obviously trying to ignore what we’d been up to.
“You two are completely ridiculous,” Robby said. “I swear, we can’t take you anywhere. Do you remember the time you almost missed a curtain call because someone couldn’t keep his dick out of your—”
Nic cleared his throat. “Jester, shut up.”
“Why?” Robby crossed his arms. “We need to sort out your little problem before it becomes a big problem.”
Nic laughed. “The knight doesn’t need to worry about me. I accept that it’s Ember’s right to choose her lovers. It’s Dio you need to be wary of. He’ll kill you for this. He’s seen Ember as ours since before we played our silly children’s game.”
“Is that your plan, then?” I snapped. “Wait for Dio to solve your problem for you?”
Nic shrugged. “That’s one way to handle the situation.”
I was about to rage at Nic, but taking the easy path is probably what I would have done in his place, too. Damn it.
“Do you, or do you not, want your princess?” Robby pushed.
Nic clenched his jaw. “It’s not my decision,” he finally said.
“Nice non-answer.” Robby steepled his fingers.
“It’s far more important for us to figure out what we need to do about Baz and the nothingness, than if I want to fuck Ember,” Nic bit out.
“Have you considered that the problems might be related?” Robby said.
I dragged Geraint the rest of the way into the room, and we sank down onto the couch. He sat stiffly, but I leaned against him. Nic stared at the floor.
“I do not think sex will solve our problems,” the prince replied.
“It might.” Robby shrugged. “But if you’re not going to talk about it, fine. What are you planning to do with Baz, and where is Dio?”
