The partygoers crowded around us. Some danced. Some made out. Some seemed too drunk to care. Tia and I were in our own little world that was getting hotter by the second.

She cupped my cheek, hooked my messy, damp hair behind my ear. “You make me feel everything. Everywhere. I’ve been dead for too long.”

The undercurrent of pain in her tone hit me in the chest. I’d been the same. Numb. Lost. But she’d awoken something in me that I didn’t understand. “This wasn’t what I had in mind tonight.”

“Me either.” She kissed me hard as she swayed on her feet.

I glided my hands over her toned arms. Heat swirled beneath my fingertips. I could touch her arms, caress them, feel them all day long. But kissing her lips was something completely different—a whole new level of heaven. They molded to mine, and each nip, bite, taste, lick, and soul-consuming touch was hot enough to melt the Arctic.

“Lewis?” she murmured against my lips. “I want you.”

Her hand disappeared from my back and slid between us. She ran it along the length of my zipper and cupped my rock-hard cock through my jeans.

My muscles tensed. Oh, dragging her to the restrooms and having those sweet lips wrapped around my cock...

NO!

What the fuck?

Panic gripped every inch of my body. My head spun faster and faster.

I squeezed my eyes shut to block Tia. The music. The fire in my veins.

She reached for my zipper, but I grabbed her wrist. Fear seized my heart.

I yanked my lips away from hers. The back of my eyes burned. “Shit. Shit. Shit. I’m sorry. I can’t do this.”

Her mouth gaped. Disappointment and confusion and hurt welled in her eyes.

Snapping out of my daze, I charged past her and headed back to our table.

“Lewis. Wait. What’s wrong?” She limped and staggered after me.

“Tia. Please.” I raked my fingers through my hair. “We shouldn’t have done that.”

“We did nothing wrong.”

“Everything about this is wrong. Can we just go home?”

She caught my arm. “Talk to me.”

“Fuck, Tia. Enough.” My heart constricted. My head throbbed. My balls wanted to explode. Every part of me ached. I fucking kissed a girl. Not in some party dare. But a girl who’d left me questioning everything about myself. “I need to get out of here. Are you coming or not?”

“Fine.” She grabbed her clutch off her table and waved at Pedro for him to follow. “This isn’t over.”

“Oh, yes, it is.” I stormed over to the cloakroom, collected our belongings, and led her out of the club.

Before I lost my sanity, this was over.

So over.

Fuck!

Chapter 14

LEWIS

“ARRRRRRGH!” I screamed at the blazing morning sun as I sped toward Flint’s house in Cole’s black Corvette. Winding through the hills, I struggled to draw breath. I hadn’t slept a wink. Last night, my kiss with Tia at the club had gotten out of control. It had gone beyond being high, drunk, and entranced by the music...It had been her. Her scent. Her laugh. Her touch. My head and heart were locked in an unrelenting battle.
