“Don’t let me miss a single day of kissing this part of you,” I whispered. “Not as long as you’re mine.”

“I think I can do that,” she said, nestling into my touch. Our sweat-dampened skin melded together. If I closed my eyes, it felt like we were one endless dog-pile of love. Everything that had gone wrong in my life to lead me to that moment didn’t seem so bad.

This was love.

Iwoke to a gentle kiss tickling my shoulder. Jake’s finger trailed between my hips and my ribs. Out of instinct, I arched my back to shove my ass into him. He returned the touch, his dick already hard.

“I thought we weren’t doing more til later?” I asked, my words thick with sleep. With devastating slowness, Jake worked my neck with open-mouthed kisses.

“I said that before I woke up next to this gorgeous naked woman in her super comfy bed,” he said.

“Did the bed live up to the hype?”

Jake’s hands drifted across the front of my body, touching all but the most interesting areas. “It did. Especially because I had such great company in it.”

Two could play this game. I rolled my hips against his erection to tease him. “Maybe those other things we have to do can wait,” I suggested.

“I think they can wait,” Jake sighed in my ear. I lifted my face so we could kiss, throwing my leg over top of his and grabbing his hard length. He felt so good in my hand that without thinking, I rubbed his cock against my wetness. Jake’s blissful groan told me I was onto something.

“You like that?” I asked coyly, fully knowing the answer.

“Love it.” Jake’s hand pressed into my belly.

“Do you want to get inside?”

Jake’s breathing sped up as he pushed himself along my seam. “So bad,” he gasped. “I’ll get a condom. Just let me feel you a little while longer.”

“By all means,” I breathed. His cock dragged deliciously against my clit as we continued our grinding. “I guess we should talk about protection, huh? I’m on birth control, but I haven’t been tested since my last partner.”

“I actually got tested last week while I was on campus. All clear,” Jake said, or rather, grunted.

“While I wish I could say I wasn’t cheated on, I really can’t. We’ll have to wait on going bare,” I moped. My sour mood shifted quickly as his hand met my breast, spiraling closer to my nipple and sending shockwaves of bliss through me.

“I’ll wear condoms as long as you need, baby. As long as I still get to have you, I don’t care. I have everything I need,” he whispered in my ear, pressing more kisses into my neck as his hands moved south. “After it’s not flooding outside, I’ll take you to a clinic for a hot date.”

I laughed. “How’d I get so lucky with you? You manage to be practical and sexy at the same time.”

“Iampretty great, aren’t I?” Jake prodded, a shit-eating grin on his face.

I turned over to face him, a quiet protest leaving him as I ended our from-the-back grind fest. “So full of shit. You’re lucky you’re cute,” I teased.

“Oh, you want cute? I’ll show you fuckin’ cute,” he retorted, pinning me to the mattress and pressing my wrists over my head. He held me there as he disappeared under the sheets, my laughter turning to sighs and moans. We became a tangle of skin and muscle and sweat and whispers and joy, a radiant joy as we celebrated “being us.”

We draggedour asses out of bed and reluctantly put on clothes. The rain had let up for the moment. The new edge of the creek was pretty high into the yard. Large branches and debris floated by in the rushing water. I knew that we were generally safe where we were, but there wouldn’t be any getting out anytime soon. We were lucky to still have power.

Hand in hand, Jake and I walked out to the far stable. The farm may have been a mess, but everything finally felt like it was falling into place with Jake. It felt so natural and easy to be with him, probably because we’d taken our time getting to know each other. He’d seen some of the worst of me and was still sticking around. If his grouchy mood on the anniversary of his dad’s death or his incoherent rant when he was tired was the worst I could expect from him, I could certainly make do.

While I placed the necessary calls to Caleb, Becca, and Uncle Bill to tell them we were okay, Jake put together dinner. Becca had plenty to say.

“Oh, whatever,” she teased me. “You’re just out there having a little honeymoon and don’t want us to come in.”

“I wish that was it,” I laughed. “You should see the creek.”
