“Did she just say ‘find me some meat’?” Jace says through a laugh.

“She did, I’m sure you realized in those few minutes of meeting her, she does not mince her words.” Jace laughs and takes a sip of his drink.

“I did notice, it can be refreshing though. I’m sure she keeps you entertained.”

“Oh, she does.”

A slight smirk graces Jace’s lips as he tilts his head to the side, eyeing me, causing fireworks to go off inside my body. I can’t believe a guy can make me feel like this so soon. What the fuck?

“You know, you really are beautiful, Rylee. I’m praying you’re not going to tell me you have a boyfriend.” Jace takes another sip of his drink, eyeing me over his cup while waiting for me to answer.

“What if I said I did?”

“Then I’d say, that’s a damn shame . . . for him.” He smirks.

“Why him?”

“Because he won’t be the one you’re waking up to,” he says with a full-blown grin. The heat that surges through my body has me standing there lost for words. It feels like he’s staring through my soul, and the heat penetrating from his eyes like laser beams burns through my skin. My mouth goes dry as I struggle to swallow.

“I need another drink; I would now like to buy you one as an apology for bumping into you.” I bet he wanted me to come back with a sexy remark, but me and sexy do not belong in the same sentence. At least I didn’t laugh like a hyena again—silver linings, I guess.

Jace flashes the perfect smile, which shows off his gorgeous white straight teeth. Can you fall in love this early?

“Why not. I’ll have a Jack and Coke.”

Jace and I have been chatting at the bar and drinking, and the next thing I know, an hour has gone by. We have been talking about everything and nothing. Jace stands and looks toward the dance floor.

“I think your friends and my friends have found each other; they’re all on the dance floor. Do you want to head down?”

“Yeah, why not. I’m sure the girls will bitch me out if I don’t go back to them soon.” I stand but don’t realize how drunk I am and topple to the left, and Jace catches me.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, that is so embarrassing. I didn’t realize how drunk I was.” I giggle and hiccup at the same time.

“Come on, let’s get you back to your friends before they accuse me of trying to get you drunk on purpose.”

As we walk down the stairs, I realize how drunk I am, but I’m feeling amazing and want to dance. As soon as we get near the girls, I grab Jace’s hand and wrap it around my waist so it rests just above my bikini line. I back into his front and start to move with him. He wraps his other hand around my front, laying it flat on my belly. Bringing his lips to the side of my neck, he gently kisses it, sending a shiver down my spine. He smiles into my neck, telling me he felt that shiver. I grind on him, and his erection hits my lower back. He doesn’t even try to hide it, which I like. Jace has this confidence about him, not a cocky confidence, a sexy confidence. I don’t even pay attention to anyone else, all I can feel, think, and smell is him.

“Rylee,” he whispers in my ear and keeps his head there so he can hear me.

“Yes?”

“Where are you going when you leave here?”

“Home, why?”

“I’m going to ask this again, and you’re going to answer me correctly,” he says as his lips skim my ear.

My heart is coming out of my chest, he wants me to go back to his.Oh my God, can I do this?

“Rylee, where are you going when you leave here?”

I don’t even need to think, the wetness between my legs from having him in my proximity for half the night has answered this for me.

“Yours,” I gasp out.

He smiles into my neck.

“That’s the correct answer, baby,” he says before placing an open-mouthed kiss on my neck, which has my eyes rolling back in my head.
