Jace tells me that work is calming down and he is starting not to dread going in. He mentions he has a meeting late tomorrow night in the city but shouldn’t be home too late. We finished eating our dinner and it was amazing. One thing Jace never let on for a while was how much of a good cook he was. We both are, to be honest, and sometimes we love opening a recipe book and cooking a big meal together.

I walk around the table, and Jace has turned his chair so I’m facing him. I grab his face with both hands and lean down, dropping a soft kiss to his lips.

“Thank you so much for this, for today. The flowers, the note, the dinner.” Jace leans up, chasing my lips. My lips meet his once again, this time parting. I angle my head to the side while Jace slips his tongue in my mouth. The kiss has gone from slow to urgent. I straddle Jace’s lap, and he stands, and before I know it, he’s laying me on the table, avoiding the plates and cutlery.

I lie back and wrap my legs around his waist, and he kisses down my neck. His hands move to pull my dress up my body. I sit up slightly, making it easier for him to lift it over my head, then he throws it behind me. He grabs my face and kisses me again, but I break the kiss and pull his top up and over his head. We move in sync, our mouths clashing together in a frenzy. We could go to the bedroom, but I need him now. I can’t wait.

Jace pushes on my shoulder, laying me flat on the table. He undoes his jeans and doesn’t even tug them all the way down, then pulls his dick out. He strokes his hard dick up and down. I don’t take my eyes off him, mesmerized by the angry veins running over it.

I go to sit up, and he commands, “No. Lay down.

“I love you so fucking much, Ry. Never forget that,” Jace whispers to my lips as he slides into me. He leans on his forearms, kissing me like he is starved for me. He lazily slides in and out, taking his time like he is savoring every inch of me. We break apart, staring into each other’s eyes as he makes love to me. At this moment, there is no place on earth I would rather be.

Soft, warm lips press against my head, sending a tingle and heat through me. I squint my eyes open. Jace is dressed in his suit, smiling at me.

“What time is it?” I yawn out.

“Eight, babe. You’re working from home today, right?”

“Yeah. What time will you be home tonight roughly. Will you be having dinner?”

“Don’t worry about that. I will probably be late in the evening. I will text you when I know what time, okay?” he says, stroking the top of my head.

I nod at him as I yawn again, burying my head further into the pillow.

“Thank you for yesterday, Jace.” I smile up at him, struggling to keep my eyes open. I’m exhausted.

He leans down, kissing me on the lips. “Anything for you. Have a good day. I love you, baby.”

“Always?” I say, closing my eyes.

The warmth of Jace’s breath caresses my ear. “Forever.”

My day has dragged. I rolled out of bed this morning and just about crawled into our office to grab my laptop and bring it back to bed. I had no energy. I ended up getting out of bed about 11:00 a.m., but I’m still sitting in my pj’s and robe. I just can’t be bothered today. My phone rings and it’s Toni.

“Hey,” I mumble.

“Yo, bitchface,” she yells down the phone, because Toni speaking a normal level is a rarity in this lifetime.

“What’s up?” I say in a loud yawn.

“No. You’re making me tired, I’m starting to catch the yawn, and we don’t want to catch the yawn, we want to catch vibbbees,” she rushes out.

“Come again?” I say because everything she said went way over my head. Her hyper moods are wild sometimes.

“Wake up,” she says way too loudly. “I called to find out if you found out what is going on with James and Jace and why Daddy acted the way he did?”

I roll my eyes at the Daddy comment. She always calls Cash, Daddy because she said he is the ultimate “Daddy.” Every time she’s around him, she flirts up a storm, which embarrasses the hell out of me. She even asked him one time, when she was drunk, if he was single and looking for a pet.I was mortified! She shrugged and laughed it off the following day, and I can’t say Cash ever looked at her the same again.

I sit there for a minute, confused as to how she knew but then remembered I texted her yesterday after she texted me with heart emojis to show me she knew what day it was. She didn’t say anything, and I appreciated that. I then dropped her a quick text telling her briefly what happened and that I would call her today, but I forgot.

“Oh no, I forgot.”

“Ahh, okay.” She moans. “Well, have a good day, ring me tonight when you know.”

“I swear you just use me for gossip,” I tease.

“Bitch, please.” She laughs. “You have gossip like once a year.”
