Connor’s gaze stops on Riley, and he takes her in and smiles before kneeling in front of her. “Hello, Riley.”

“Are you my grandpa?” she asks.

“Yes, I’m your grandpa. I’m happy to meet you.”

“My daddy takes me to see horses every day. He took me on a ride with a real horse.”

“Sounds exciting,” Connor responds.

“It pooped,” she states while making a yucky face, and Leo and I crack up. She had some interesting questions about how it could trot and poop at the same time.

Connor shakes his head, and with a chuckle, he stands up. He gives Leo a pat on the shoulder and leans in to kiss my cheek.

I was not expecting that.

“Hello, Kylie. Nice to see you again.”

“Hello, Mr. Knight. Lovely to see you again too.”

“Please call me Connor. We’re family now.” He welcomes us further into the penthouse, leading us into the dining room. He’s much different than I last remembered. I like this man. The other one, not so much. We take our seats, and the staff brings in dinner. Or should I say breakfast. I told Leo how much Riley loves pancakes.

“Yum, pancakes,” Riley squeals, sitting on her knees to get a closer look at the assortment of condiments to go with them. “Mommy, they have chocolate onesandblueberry ones.”

I laugh. “Which would you like?”

“All of them,” she says. “Do you have syrup, Grandpa?”

“Yes, of course. It’s in that jug right there.” Connor points out the canister.

“Yummy.”

As we eat our pancakes, the conversation flows nicely. Connor is very charismatic, and I see where Leo gets his charm.

After we finish, I take Riley into a bedroom to change her into her swimsuit. Leo said his dad has a private rooftop heated pool that goes with his penthouse apartment and that we can take Riley swimming. She’s extremely excited.

After putting on my suit and cover-up, I pick up my bags with towels and head out.

Leo is waiting for us, wearing a pair of trunks, and oh my God, I’m reminded of how finely sculpted and delicious he is—muscled arms, six-pack abs, a happy trail that leads to his magnificent manhood, and a clearly defined V.He’s still a perfect Adonis.

His little grazes here and there this week, whether taking my hand to cross a street or rubbing against me as we maneuvered around each other, has my libido ramping up. But seeing him like this has me salivating to touch him and be touched. He’s staring at me, and when he scans my body, he licks his lips.

When my eyes land on his chest, I notice something that wasn’t there before. Forgetting myself, I let out a breath and drop my bag before inching my way over to him. I place my fingers on his left peck, where his tattoo is. His chest twitches in response. His tattoo is a tribal sun sitting close to his heart.

I gaze up at him in question.

“Sunshine,” he murmurs huskily.

Sunshine. That’s what he called me the first night we met after we kissed.

Could the tattoo be for me?

The air sizzles around us as we pointedly stare at each other, lost in our own world. The chemistry and desire are still present, and not just for me but for Leo as well.

“Ahem.” Connor clears his throat, and Leo and I jump. How long were we transfixed on each other?Connor is wearing shorts and a shirt, holding Riley at his side. “I, um… think this little lady is ready for a swim.”

Riley giggles and announces, “Mommy and Daddy are always staring at each other.”

Shit. She noticed that? What else has she picked up on?
