He shoots me a look. “Does she know that?”
“Of course.”
He steps closer and points his finger into my chest and says, “If you hurt her, you won’t just have James to worry about.”
I nod. I don’t doubt a word he’s saying.
“But you won’t tell?”
“I won’t,” he says as he walks to the door. “But you need to end this.”
He leaves without another word, and I sink onto the bed and try not to think about how all of this is going to end badly.

Maggie: Milwaukee
Declan: Milwaukee! That’s our town.

Declan: Yeah. It’s our town, remember?
Maggie: You can come but only if you stop calling it that.
