“Everyone,” Elizabeth says. She pulls on a pair of sunglasses and rests her head on the back of her chair.

“Oh, that’s great. I wasn’t sure if everyone could get away.”

After I finish my glass of lemonade, I set it down and say, “Which room am I in? I’m going to go grab my things.”

“I’ll show you,” Maggie says, standing up.

She follows me out to the car without a word and then shows me to the room beside hers.

“Are you angry?” I ask when we stop in front of her door.

“No.”

“You’re acting a bit angry.”

She shrugs.

“Did you not want me to leave? I thought you wanted to be alone.”

She shrugs again.

I’m growing annoyed, but she clearly doesn’t want to talk about it. “How’s Elizabeth? She looks good.”

“It’s been good. I think she’s doing better. She’s more relaxed here.”

“That’s great. How’s your week been?”

“Fine.”

“Okay.” I shift my weight. God, we’re getting nowhere.

“Did you have fun? Enjoy your freedom?” she asks.

I narrow my eyes. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

She shrugs again and turns to walk away.

“Seriously, Maggie, what does that mean?”

She just waves her hand in the air and walks away.

“Pull.” Will raises his gun and tracks the clay disk across the sky. He squeezes the trigger and seconds later the disk explodes.

“Nice to see you still have it. Last time you were out here...” Keene just shudders.

Will laughs. “God, that’s funny to think about now, but Olivia had me all twisted up in knots.”

Keene looks over at me. “Well, what’s Declan’s problem? He hasn’t shot a single disk.”

I glare at him.

“Maybe he’s just sleep deprived,” Eli says.

James just studies me for a moment and then says, “Doubt it. He was gone all last week. Did you have a good trip?”

“It was fine.”

Keene scowls at me. “You’re not supposed to be the grouchy one.”
