I rinsed my hands and wiped them on the dish towel I kept on my shoulder when I was cooking. “It’s okay to give a shit, you know.” I studied his face. “It’s normal to give a shit about people. Some people anyway.”

“I know that,” he grumbled, opening the fridge and removing a beer.

“That why won’t you play?” I asked. “And that’s a rhetorical question, because I already know the answer. The question is, do you?”

He took a swig of his beer and cracked his neck. “Sounds like you have all the answers.”

“I think I’ve got a few of them, on this subject at least.”

“Then why don’t you enlighten me,” he said.

”You don’t want to share her,” I said. “And the thing is. I get it.Weget it.”

Willa was the first girl all of us wanted for ourselves. The only difference between us was that Drago and I were willing to admit it.

We fucking loved her. Like grow-old-together, have-my-babies, forever love.

But she belonged to all of us. She always had, even though she might not be willing to admit it yet.

“Then why are you sharing her?” Neo asked.

“Because that’s how it has to be, man.” Sharing her was part of the deal, in part because none of us would ever make her choose, Neo included. “You got a problem with that?”

I already knew he wouldn’t make her choose either, because as much as he wanted to act like a dickbag who didn’t give a shit, he loved her too.

Besides, as much as I enjoyed my time alone with her, as much as I loved the nights when she stayed in my room, letting me hold her until morning, it was hot as hell fucking her with my brothers, watching her face and knowing she loved every minute of it as much as we did.

I was getting hard just thinking about it.

“No,” Neo said, the nerve in his jaw jumping.

“Good, because you’re really harshing the vibe around here.”

I didn’t entirely believe him, but I was glad we were having the conversation. I was tired of watching Neo sulk while Drago and I had the fucking time of our lives taking care of Willa, making her come until she couldn’t come anymore.

“She’s going to leave,” he said. “Once we figure out what happened to Emma.”

“Maybe,” I said, trying to ignore the fact that the thought of it broke my fucking heart. “But we can’t do anything about that. We agreed to take care of her. That means making her happy, giving her whatever she wants, even if that means letting her go.”

The words sounded wise only because I’d been saying them to myself for the past three and a half months.

I believed them, but that didn’t mean I had to like it.

His jaw was clamped in a hard line, but at least he gave me the satisfaction of nodding. Maybe I was actually getting through that thick fucking head of his.

“Maybe try enjoying her while she’s here,” I said. “Stop being a dick. Do something nice for her instead of just sticking your dick in her mouth.”

“She wasn’t complaining,” he said.

I laughed and shook my head. He wasn’t wrong. Willa took everything we had to give, and I did mean everything, and her multiple orgasms made it clear she was more than happy to enjoy the ride.

“I’m just saying, man, try letting her know you give a shit before it’s too late.”

He scowled and headed for the living room. “I don’t need your advice.”

I turned my attention to the broccoli on the counter and started chopping. Neo needed advice more than anyone I knew, but when it came to Willa, I wasn’t sure I should be giving it.

Because I was at the top of the list of people who didn’t want her to go.
