On his chest and back were my nail marks that had turned into silver tattoos.

“I love them,” I whispered, unable to help myself, before examining his expression. “Do you?”

“I feel insanely possessive over them already.” He chuckled softly, his eyes moving down to my chest. “And I can hardly blame you—my mark is now permanent.”

My gaze followed his, and a smile spread onto my lips. “Wow.”

The glass orb of his necklace had been shattered from being pressed between us, which would have been a problem…if the feather hadn’t buried itself right in the center of my chest above Desmond’s flame.

A sense of contentment filtered over me, knowing that this was exactly how Draven and I were supposed to be.Forever.

CHAPTER20

Lorcan

“I’m telling you, bunny, that’s what happened.” Rhett looked so earnest while also looking beyond amused. “He was fucking someone—Bayton was literally fucking someone.”

I couldn’t help but giggle at the idea while also wrinkling my nose at the imagery. Call me crazy, but I really felt like the only thing that could excite that man was the idea of amassing knowledge. Then again, assuming he was human to an extent, I suppose he would feel a normal range of desire.

Weird. Very weird.

“I’m not saying I don’t believe you,” I said, brushing my fingers through my hair and giving myself a once over in the mirror, “I just do not, under any circumstances, want to have that picture in my head.”

Rhett’s smile slipped away. “Fuck, you’re right—pretend I didn’t say anything. I hate the idea of you thinking about him fucking someone.”

“You’re the one who told me!”

“It was disturbing,” Dean admitted, finishing the tie on the back of my dress. The back of it was open except at the top where laces held it up. The entire dress was loose in nature, and it floated around my skin in a soothing way, my entire body still feeling hot after what Draven and I had just finished doing.

Alright, I suppose it had been a few hours, but damn was my body humming.

I also could feel him staring at me through the doorway from the other room, and I had to force myself to avoid eye contact because I knew I would turn ten shades of pink. Of course it totally didn’t help that all of them were looking exceptionally handsome, everyone having taken turns getting ready and freshening up. Instinct had told me that there would be clothes for us in the closet attached to the bathroom, and I hadn’t been wrong. All of my men were in ocean colored linen shirts and pants, and I was wearing an aquamarine dress covered in decorative seashells. It was exactly the type of thing Bayton would expect us to wear.

I was ready for this breakfast to get started already. Besides all the vital information Bayton planned to share, I could feel Nova’s magic. I had dozed off after my time with Draven so I didn’t know when exactly she arrived, but she was here, and my siren, while possessive over my men, was also excited to see her magic. I had a feeling the two of them had some type of understanding that I wasn’t privy to.

I was starting to think my siren could do a lot of shit that I wasn’t aware of. To be fair, she may not have been aware of it either—we were both winging it.

“When can we head over there?” I asked before my brow crinkled. “Where are we supposed to go?”

“I think he mentioned something about the western wing of the building,” Cash called out.

He had? I didn’t remember that, but then again, I’d been incredibly distracted by the epic pool in the center of our room. One that now held the permanent memory of Draven and the way he’d turned my body into a puddle of desire.

And my cheeks were turning pink.

“Fuck it,” I sighed. “Let’s go. I’m getting nervous, and I hate being nervous.”

“Nothing to be nervous about,” Desmond insisted as I walked into the room.

“It’s true. If you want out of this, just say the word,” Adriel added.

I sighed under my breath and looked towards Zander, his brow furrowed. He looked conflicted, and I knew he wanted to agree, but when you were able to lay eyes on the issue like we were…well, the ability to ignore it became nearly impossible.

“I wish,” I muttered. Then, shaking myself, I walked towards the door, mentally preparing for everything ahead. As we walked into the hallway, I let my men lead the way and positioned myself between Dean and Draven, the first holding my hand and the second looking down at me with curiosity and heat.

“What’s up?” I asked softly. We walked through the main foyer and through several archways in silence, but when we hit a set of stairs that led up, he finally answered.

“I’m wondering how your siren is going to act being around this descendant again. Especially now that you’ve officially mated with so many of your bonded.”
