"Look at that queue," Eden pointed at the line.

"That's why we have this," Liam waved the colourful family pass hanging loosely around his neck.

"How did you get it so quickly? When did you even get it?" she asked, trying to keep up with his pace.

Liam smirked and grabbed her hand. "I have my ways. I know people."

They were through the entrance in no time, and Eden was mildly impressed. She knew he had a lot of clout at Anderson Logistics since he was the CEO, but she never thought his reach extended so far and wide.

"So, are you impressed? Do you love me more now that I've saved you from that long queue?" he teased.

Eden's phone buzzed in Aiden's backpack before she could put Liam in his place. He paused mid-step so she could take it out.

It was a conference call from her friends. She waved the phone at Liam. "I have to take this."

He bobbed his head. "But please don't tell them where we are."

"Why?" Eden asked.

"Because they'll show up here and bring Matthew and Julian, and it will ruin our family outing. I want you both to myself today."

"So what do I say to them?"

Liam frowned and bounced Aiden in his arms when he grew restless because they were idle for too long. "I don't know, make up a story. But they can't come here. This is our family time."

"Okay, fine, I get it," Eden laughed. "I won't tell them."

Three minutes into the call, her friends figured out her whereabouts, with Sienna announcing, "we're coming over. We have news to share!"

Before Eden could tell them not to, they'd already hung up.

"You told them, didn't you?" Liam saw right through her glum face.

She shook her head, smiling sheepishly. "Not exactly."

Liam turned to one of the stalls and bought the most garish-look top hat Eden had ever seen.

"You deserve to wear the hat of shame!" he said as he placed the hat on her head and kissed her nose. "And you'll have to wear it the whole day."

"But it doesn't go with my outfit—"

"You'll just have to make it work." Liam shrugged and returned to the stall to grab superhero capes and matching face masks for him and Aiden.

Eden thought he bought his costume for shits and giggles and wouldn't wear it. But he surprised her when he threw it on after dressing Aiden up.

"How come you get to be superheroes?" Eden pouted.

"Because we didn't invite our friends to a family outing," Liam reminded her. "And just so you don't repeat the same mistake for future outings, you're the photographer today."

"I'll do it, sir," Brenda volunteered, huffing and puffing. All that running trying to catch up with them had done a number on her.

Liam smiled sweetly at her. "No, Brenda. Let her do it. It's her punishment. Do you want a cape to join our squad?"

Brenda held up her hands and shook her head. "No thanks, but I'd like some water."

"Coming right up!" he picked Aiden up and headed for the refreshments stall.

"They're both so happy," Brenda noted.
