“If you’re pregnant with our kid—because make no mistake, any baby you have will be all of ours—it won’t be as easy to walk away when things get tough.” We all watched Alden as he spoke.

“You think I’d quit so easily?”

“We just want to make sure you have as many reasons as possible to stay,” Torque said quietly.

“So knowing that I love all of you isn’t enough? You want to knock me up on top of that?” I asked. I could see their point, but it was irritating that they weren’t trusting in me. But it wasn’t about not trusting me, was it?

They were so intensely afraid of even the possibility that I could leave that they went right into their over the top behavior. Later, I might find that flattering. For now, we were all still getting to know each other. They’d only known me in this environment. It made sense that they weren’t sure how I’d react once we were out in the world, together as couples.

The men grinned at each other and I glanced around wondering how the mood had gone from serious to them looking so satisfied. “What-”

“You love us, Princess?”

My eyes widened as Keller asked me that. I hadn’t meant for that to slip out. Not that it wasn’t true, it was just so soon. The cat was out of the bag, though, so I owned it. “Of course I do. You think I’d sleep with four men I didn’t love?”

They chuckled at that. Torque leaned over and took my lips in a searing kiss. He pulled back the slightest bit—so we weren’t cross eyed as he gazed at me. “I love you too, Kitten.”

Arms wrapped around me from behind and Rush kissed my neck. “Same, Beautiful. I love you.”

I cocked a brow at the cousins and Alden’s lips twitched. “We’ll tell you when the time is right for us.”

I rolled my eyes. Of course that’s what he’d say. Neither of them would want to tell me now because they weren’t in control here. I’d started it and they wanted to be the one to say it to me first. They didn’t have to tell me for me to know it. They considered me ‘theirs’. They’d said so this morning. Keller had said they wanted to put a baby in me right away. They loved me.

“Having discussed this… And I’d like to make it known that this goes against my better judgment, but… yes.”

“Yes what?” Keller growled, eyes narrowed. He didn’t want to get his hopes up.

“I’ll have your baby. Babies.” Torque let out a whoop that made me laugh.

We started getting ready for bed and I could feel Keller’s gaze on me. I knew if we didn’t all need to get some sleep he’d be getting started now on that baby making.

CHAPTER27

Keller

Iwatched the comings and goings of Roj’s soldiers down below. We were perched up behind a dune as we spied on the men. The sun was sinking down below the horizon and soon we’d be switching over to our night vision goggles.

We’d made sure to get here a bit earlier today because I’d wanted to commit some of the faces we were watching to memory. Maybe we’d get lucky and spot Roj. It wasn’t possible to do that once the darkness took over, even with NVGs.

The last rays of the sun’s light illuminated the sand around us. I’d rather be back at the safehouse with Zinnia, but we had a mission to complete. Now that we’d all discussed how our relationship would proceed, I felt better about finishing up our job here and getting home. That was when our lives with her would really begin.

Iraq had provided us with the catalyst needed to get this going, but it was time to get home. Nothing could make me happier than knowing I’d have both Zinnia and my team in my life going forward. The men were my best friends and that was the only reason I was able to stand sharing my woman with them. That and knowing they’d be there to help protect her from this point on. Nothing would touch our family because they’d have the four of us guarding them.

“Hey Rush,” Torque called out softly. “You hungry?”

We all looked over and found him holding a scorpion by the tail, swinging it in front of Rush’s face.

“If I could start a fire, I’d be down. They taste like chicken.”

A look of revulsion crossed Torque’s face as he flung the insect away from where we were lying in the sand. “You’re disgusting,” he muttered. “Is there anything you won’t eat?”

Rush thought about that for a moment, then shrugged. “Dick. Not really my thing.”

We all laughed at that, careful to keep it soft. Sound carried out here, especially at night. The sun was down and darkness was creeping over everything. I motioned to them to stop the chit chat.

“What the hell are they doing?”

I looked over at my cousin, then pulled out my NVGs to see what he was talking about. My brows drew together as we watched a group of men take off in a truck. We’d been watching this compound for a week now and this was the first time they’d gone anywhere after dark.
