“Olivia!” My dad shouts my name.

I bolt back into the house. When I enter the bedroom, I see Eddie on the floor, unconscious. His face is covered in blood. My older brother and dad are trying to hold Jason back.

“Can you help me here?” Kane asks. For a second, I think he’s talking to Ben, but I quickly realize he means me. They both have Jason pinned to the wall, and he’s fighting to free himself from them.

“Let him go.” I step in front of Jason. His eyes are almost feral. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.

“I’m not so sure about that,” Ben says as he bends down to check if Eddie has a pulse.

“I’ve got him.” Jason would have to come through me if he was going to make a grab for Eddie again. “Let him go,” I snap at them. Finally they both release him. Jason does as I thought he would and grabs me. I wrap myself around him.

“Olivia.” He buries his face in my neck.

“You got me.” I run my hands up and down his back. “Look at me.” He lifts his head. “I’m fine,” I reassure him. He presses his mouth against mine in a hard kiss.

“All right. That's enough of that,” Ben mutters.

Jason pulls back from the kiss. I have no clue what will happen next.

“Take our girl home.” My dad’s hand comes down on Jason’s shoulder. “We’ll handle this.”

“I’m not done with him,” Jason responds. His eyes never leave mine.

“Take me home.” I press my hands against his cheeks. “Please.”

“I don’t have a helmet for her,” Jason finally says.

“Take my truck.” My dad hands me his keys. Jason pulls the keys to his bike from his pocket, handing them over to my dad before he takes me out of the house.

The ride back to his place is quiet. When he pulls in and parks, I unclick my seat belt and crawl over into his lap.

“You’re scaring me.” I wrap my arms around his neck.

“He took you.”

“And you found me. I knew you would.”

“I can never let you out of my sight again.” His hands grip my hips. “You’re moving in, and we’re getting married.”

“Okay,” I agree.

“I don’t care what your brothers or dad try to say.”

“Neither do I. Not about this,” I agree. I love my family, but this is different.

There is no stopping Jason at this point. Though I don’t think there ever was.

JASON

Ican’t stop touching her. I don’t think I’m ever going to let her go more than a few feet from me again. I’ve had the world exploding all around me before and thought I might be seconds away from death, and this still scared me more than that ever did.

“Jason.” She turns in my arms, her fingers trail across my chest. “I’m pretty sure I’m all clean.”

The first thing I did was strip us both down and got in the shower. I wanted to wash away anything that might have gotten on her. Not to mention the blood that was on me. I’m supposed to be the one taking care of her, but she’s so calm.

“Kiss me,” she demands, her hands slipping up my chest and around my neck. I bend down, taking her mouth. She melts into me. Relief fills me that she has no fear of me after what she saw me become. I wanted to kill Eddie. I’m pretty sure I would have gone through with it too if David hadn't shown up.
