“I’m going to go over and see him.”

“I figured.” He pulls me in for a hug, dropping a kiss on the top of my head. “Call me if you need anything. I’ll be there in a heartbeat.” I have no doubt about that. That man would give his life to protect me.

“I know.” It doesn’t matter if everyone is fighting. At the end of the day, we’re a family. My dad’s right, though; I wouldn’t date someone who would be a dick to them. Now I’m not sure what to think about how things went down this afternoon.

I grab my purse and head out. It’s already dark out when I pull up outside of the club house. The parking lot is pretty full. There’s a party clearly going on inside.

When I enter, I see Rider and Bear. Both of their eyes come to me. I’ve met a lot of people over the last week. More so in passing than anything. Jason would introduce me and then take me back to his room.

Rider runs his hand across his mouth like he’s wiping it, and I know he’s saying something to Bear because he nods. I give them both a smile and try to walk past them, but Bear steps in front of me.

“Want me to get Pres for you?” he asks. Bear is a big guy with a full beard.

“I’ll find him.” My eyes are already searching over the crowd of people. The bar area is full tonight. Girls are already up dancing. They are dressed but not wearing much. An uneasiness starts to come over me.

“Nah, I’ll get him,” Rider says while already walking away.

“Where is he?” I follow after Rider. Bear reaches out and starts to grab my arm but quickly drops it.

“He’s in his office.”

“Thanks,” I chirp. My heart is pounding. Why is everyone acting so weird? It makes me feel as if they are hiding something. Why don’t they want me to look for Jason myself?

“No, he went back to his room,” Bear says, following behind me. Pink glances my way as I pass the bar. She gives me a smile before her eyes go to Bear and Rider. Her brows pull together. What the hell is going on?

“Both of you stop,” I snap. I’m a bit surprised when they actually listen to me and stop walking. I refuse to be pushed around by these two big men. I’ve lived with three intimidating men my whole life. I’m used to handling them. “I'll go by myself.”

“Pres wouldn't want you wandering around by yourself during a party,” Bear responds. That makes me feel fractionally better.

“Fine,” I give. They continue to follow after me.

The music fades away as I make my way down the long hallway. I don’t bother knocking when I get to Jason’s office. I know I probably should. He could be in a meeting with someone, but in my defense I’m not in the best mood.

My hand freezes when a small, feminine gasp comes from the other side of the door. My stomach drops at the sound.

“No,” I breathe out. Jason and I have never really put a label on what we are, but still. I’m going to kill him. I can’t believe this. I thought he was different. That we truly had something special between us.

“Don’t.” A hand comes down on top of mine over the knob when I start to turn it. “I don’t want to kill Arch because you saw his dick or something.” My head jerks around to face Jason. “Why do you always look so damn hot, babe?” A goofy smile forms on his face, and I realize he’s drunk.

“You good, Pres?” Bear asks him.

“I’m not going to beat on anyone else.” He answers him before he jerks his chin, letting them know to get lost.

“Who were you beating on?” I saw the marks on his knuckles. His hand is still on top of mine.

“Dumbasses.”

“More than one?” Jason shrugs. Another moan comes from inside his office. “Is that Vee in there with him because I’ll do more than see his dick. I’ll cut it off.” The smile drops from Jason’s face.

“It’s Vee, but you better not touch another man’s dick or we’re going to have problems.”

“We already have problems.” I pull my hand back.

“I agree. We do. You have too many clothes on.” He grabs me and tosses me over his shoulder before I can try to dodge him.

“Put me down.” I smack his ass as I try to wiggle around. I let out a scream when his hand lands on top of mine.

“Still, you’ll hurt yourself.”
