She ran her hand against her neck, holding her breath. “Here.”
“I’m not hungry,” I admitted, then stood.
“Thank you.”
I closed my eyes, despising the way I felt. It reminded me of the when Gwen had wormed her way into my heart once. If only momentary. Elizabeth was a mortal on top of it all. “You will do what I say,” I said, throwing away any sentiment brought on by a memory of my childhood. “When I’m horny, you will get on your knees.”
“That wasn’t the deal.” She stood, then stumbled to the bed, pulling the dagger from her thigh. “I thought you wanted blood.” I was wondering when that would come out. The back of her legs hit the frame, knocking her onto her ass. “Don’t you have a girlfriend?”
I blinked twice, drumming my fingers on the sofa’s arm. That was right. She had seen me with Gwen when she arrived. “Monogamy isn’t something we vampires are known for.”
She scoffed, brandishing the dagger. “I wouldn’t have thought you were the type who liked to share.”
My gaze glided over the silhouette of her figure. I’d given her much more than I should, and I was tired of being ordered around. A pent-up energy built in my groin. I hadn’t fucked anyone in days, even pushing Gwen away. The idea of Elizabeth haunted me. Taking her would get her out of my system.
I moved to her before she could catch her next breath, grabbing her wrist, forcing her hand with the dagger onto the blankets. “I’m not.” I tilted my head, her expression filled with curiosity. “Now, now,” I clucked my tongue as she tried to wrestle against me. “Pointing that thing at me isn’t behaving, now is it?”
She blew out a shaky breath, but I didn’t detect a hint of fear in her expression. “What is it you want to do with me?”
A smile built on my lips as I looked her up and down. “I want to make you scream.”
“You already make me want to just by being in the same room as me,” she said in a half-attempt at sarcasm, but her uneven breaths, and arching back, rooted me to her.
“I want to fuck you. Now.”
Her mouth fell open, the muscles in her wrist moving as she tightened her grip on the dagger. “Why?”
My brows pulled together. Why? “Because you’re fucking beautiful.”
I grinned as a blush pinkened her cheeks. “I don’t want to,” she snapped back. She white-knuckled the dagger, bringing it to my throat as I pressed her deeper on the bed. “I’m sure even vampires can’t survive without their heads.”
“Don’t tease me,” I challenged, my heart picking up speed. “If you’re going to stab me, then do it.”
“You’re so fucked up.”
A growl reverberated in my chest as I leaned down. “Open wider, little warrior. Let’s see how well you wield that dagger when I’m inside you.”
She pressed the blade into my throat, drawing blood. I grabbed the blade in my hand, the sting of the cut on my palm only adding to the adrenaline pulsing through my veins. “You’re all fire, little warrior, and I’d bet everyone’s been afraid to get too close.” I laced my fingers to the inside of her leg, reaching the apex of her thighs. “Not me. You entrance me, Elizabeth.”
Her breath hitched, her gaze sliding from my healing cut to the blood-soaked dagger lying next to us on the crumpled blankets. “You don’t entrance me.”
“I know.”
She closed her eyes, and I brought my lips to her neck, fangs scraping her delicate skin. Fighting the instinct to bite had never come so easily. My dick bulged against my pants as I closed my lips, kissing her throat, running down to her collarbone, wanting nothing more than for us to devour each other.
“No!” She pushed me, but I didn’t move. “I don’t want you. You repulse me,” she added breathlessly.
I slid her panties to one side, slipping a finger over her throbbing clit. “Then why are you so wet?”
Her throat bobbed, her nipples hardening as I ran my hands down the outside of her dress, running my fingers over the curves of her breasts. She kept her gaze locked on me, redness rising over her neck and face.
“Remember, you’re mine now,” I breathed on her neck, groaning as she rocked under me, my tongue running over my bottom lip. “We made a deal.”
“You’re psychotic.”
“Say that again,” I warned, “and I’ll spank your ass so hard you won’t be able to walk for days,” I added, hoping she would.
Her gaze narrowed as she caught the death mark on my temple?a jagged scar reaching into my hairline. I never figured out what the object was on my ship that hit me before Kalon found me, close to death, but its mark remained. A homage to my mortal life. She lifted her fingers, moving back the strands to look at it better.
