A feeling of melancholy washes over me as I think about my parents and how much I miss them. My hometown suddenly feels further away than ever before. I should really visit my parents more often. I haven’t seen my parents since shortly after Gallo was arrested.

Shaking the thought out of my head, I continue, “Do you think you could teach me?”

Her smile falters as she takes a step back and looks a little nervous. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Moretti. I cannot. Enjoy your breakfast.”

Before I can question her, she's already gone and shut the door behind her. It didn’t escape me that I was no longercara, but instead back to Mrs. Moretti.

I’m really starting to hate that name.

Plopping myself down in the seat at the table, I let out a huff of frustration as I play with my food in front of me. Although it looks and smells amazing, I’ve lost my appetite.

Trying to think of another plan of attack, I really wish I had my phone so I could call Elle. I miss my best friend; she always knows what to do and what to say to cheer me up. But, since it’s “not safe right now,” I try to channel my inner Elle and ask myself, WWED? What Would Elle Do. She definitely wouldn’t be sitting here moping around, that’s for sure.

Getting up from the table, I start to pace the room again as I think. Maybe I could befriend Fabi’s sister, Sofia? Hmm, I don’t know anything about her or where she lives. From the way Fabi barked at Marco to call her and how he seemed bored when he told me she was his sister, I’m going out on a limb here by saying they are not close. If they were, wouldn’t he call her himself to make sure she was all right after the attack on his warehouse? Since I don't know the first thing about her, I guess Sofia’s out…I think I can get Maria to agree to teach me Italian. She seems sweet, and after she showed me that she can, in fact, speak English, I think I can make it happen. I just need to turn on my charm.

I decide to explore the grounds a bit and get myself ready in a rush. I was going to leave my hair down and let it air dry, but I need this to look like just another day and not draw attention to myself, and my hair being down sporting my naturally curly hair definitely would. Putting it up into a messy bun, I look myself over in the mirror and I look like my normal self. Well, my normal self sincehecame into my life.

Ever since I married Fabi and now have the freedom to roam the compound, I still have people watching me and can’t leave the premises without my husband giving the okay. Rolling my eyes internally, a memory springs to life of the time I rolled my eyes at Fabi – the day he informed me that I was no longer locked in my room. My gilded cage had expanded beyond those four walls, with rules and stipulations of course.

I’m brought back to the present when I trip over my own feet, almost falling on the ground, but not before my arm is grabbed from behind. Looking over my shoulder, I see Luigi.

“Are you okay, Mrs. Moretti?” he asks, concern written all over his face.

“Oh, yeah. Whoops. Clumsy me, just tripping over my feet like usual. Nothing to see here.”

Smooth, Gia.You’re trying tonotdraw attention to yourself.

I let out a little laugh to let him know I’m fine, and he smiles back at me but still looks wary. I turn around and continue on my way, praying that I don’t draw even more attention to myself.

Just act cool, Gia. You’ve got this, bitch.

I giggle at the words in my head that Elle would definitely say to me as one of the maids turns in my direction, giving me a strange look before masking her features and bowing her head when she realizes who I am.

Real smooth, Gia.

CHAPTER24

FABRIZIO

It’s been a day already, and it’s only ten in the morning. Leaning back in my desk chair, I close my eyes and I’m flooded with memories of mygattinaon her knees in front of me, just hours ago. I’ve imagined her on her knees with her fuckable lips wrapped around my hard cock since the moment I first saw her picture. The real thing was better than any dream or fantasy I could conjure up. Remembering the feel of her mouth on me and how she took me so well down her throat has me going hard instantly.

Readjusting myself in my pants, I catch a glimpse of Jeff sprawled out on the floor sleeping away, without a care in the world.

“I bet you wouldn’t be sleeping if Gia were here,” I say out loud.

At the mention of Gia’s name, he opens his eyes and picks his head up from the ground, looking around for mygattinabefore plopping his head back down.

“Traitor,” I say as he moans in agreement.

I don’t blame him, though. She sure as hell has managed to weasel her way under my skin in the short amount of time she's been here.

Looking down at my left hand, I take in my plain gold wedding band that once felt alien on my finger, but now doesn’t belong anywhere else.

Much like Gia.

Curious to see what mydarling wifeis up to today, I pull up my security feed and scroll through all of the rooms until I find her. She’s right outside the library and looks lost in thought, staring at the closed door. Looking both directions, she approaches the door and is just about to open it when one of my maids comes walking down the hallway, giving Gia a quick nod as she passes, while Gia gives her some weird wave before entering the library.

“What are you doing, gattina?” A chuckle falls from my mouth when she bumps into one of the side tables and almost knocks the lamp over.
