Maria stops and turns slightly, offering me a small smile before exiting the room and locking me back up in my “cell.”

Click.A sound I am very familiar with fills me with hope…only for it to vanish in an instant when I see him walking in the room. The prick has the audacity to look sexy as all hell.

He’s covered head to toe in another black fitted Armani suit, his dress shirt unbuttoned at the nape of his neck, displaying his tattoos and the same gold chain with an Italian horn pendant. His hair is styled in that perfect, freshly-fucked way that is just begging for my hands to run through it and pull, hard. Dark eyes pierce into mine as a smug smile pulls at the corners of his mouth.

He continues to hold my gaze and I can feel just how wet I am already from his presence alone.

His next words, however, undo me for a whole other reason.

“Hello, gattina. Are you ready for a little field trip, fidanzata?”

CHAPTER11

FABRIZIO

A knock soundsat my office door, pulling me out of the memory from last week. I never should have gone into her room alone. After my “torturing session” with Gia, I’d gone back to my own room and had to take a cold shower, but I knew even that wouldn’t solve my problem. I was so fucking pent-up, I went to Secrets, and the whole time I was there getting my cock sucked, I couldn’t stop picturing a small feisty brunette instead.

Why can’t I stop thinking about her?Maybe I just need to fuckherand then I’ll be fine?

Who am I kidding? I can’t fuck her. She’s my prisoner and she stole from me.

Another knock comes, and I say, “Come in.”

The door opens, and in walks Marco, looking as stoic as ever, along with Luigi and Andreas.

“Boss, we’ve got some information.”

“Good. Sit.”

I stop what I’m doing as I wait for Marco to speak. Ever since Gia said she didn’t know Dante, we’ve been tailing him to figure out what he wants from her and why the fuck the bastard was stupid enough to steal from me.

“We had one of our guys at the station question Gallo again, and boss, he’s pretty adamant that Gia didn’t know a single thing about anything he’s done. Said she’d be too stupid to have ever figured it out because she was so desperate for the perfect American dream family life to notice anything else.”

Anger flows through my body at that, the grip on my pen almost causing it to snap in half. The way this asshole speaks about his so-called wife pisses me off beyond belief. I’ll never understand what she ever saw in him.

“Okay, do we have any reason to think he’s lying? Does she have any ties with Dante that Gallo doesn't know about? Maybe she was using him as a sugar daddy?”

Even as the words leave my mouth, I know there's no chance of that. Gia doesn't seem like that type of woman. Hence why she's currently living in a shitty apartment and barely using her savings to live off while she looks for a job.

“We’ve been trailing Dante and his men for a few days now, boss, and it doesn’t seem they actually know her either…”

I can tell he’s hesitating with whatever else he has to say, which leads me to believe it's not good. I give him a few seconds, and when he doesn't continue, I almost lose it.

“Fucking spit it out already Marco. I don’t have all fucking day.”

He clears his throat before saying, “They, ahh, they’re after Gia. They were planning to grab her the night we took her. And by the sounds of it, they’re waiting it out until we release her.”

If I thought I was angry before, that was nothing on how I feel right now. What the fuck does Dante Bonetti want with Gia? Whatever it is, there's no way it can be good.

“What the fuck does that son of a bitch want with her? She’smine,” I say through clenched teeth, venom mixing with my words.

“We don't know, boss. We never heard him saywhyhe wanted her.”

Andreas speaks up for the first time since entering. I turn my focus and send him a death glare. What the fuck did they come in here for if they don’t know why Dante wants her?

“So you’re here why?” I ask and take a deep breath, trying to remain calm.

“We – ahh…we were thinking th-that…perhaps suggesting that, maybe she sh-should, go home?” Andreas finally says, stumbling over his words.
