His lips twist, fighting a grin, but he changes the subject as usual. “You giving me a ride tonight?”

“Where’s your car?”

“That’s not what I meant,” he says, wiggling his brows as he bites his bottom lip through a smile. When I give him an apathetic look, he laughs. “You’ll want to once you see what I have for you. You’ll want to give me everything.”

“I think you overestimate my desire for gifts.”

“I think you underestimate my gift giving abilities.” He goes quiet for a few seconds. “Plus, let’s not pretend you don’t want to fuck me.”

I ignore that comment.

“So, your place?” I ask.

“Yep. Remember how to get there?”

“Yeah.”

He goes to turn, but spots my car a few houses away, parked under a streetlight.

“That Jason’s house? Or Will’s?”

“Don’t.”

His eyes flicker to the duplex, and now I wonder if I put Willow in danger. I’m not exactly compassionate, but Willow doesn’t need to walk into her place and find a crazed Kaspian there.

I grab his chin roughly, forcing him to look at me. “It’s not a man’s place. You hear me? Do not give me a reason, Kaspian. I’m telling you.”

Kas’s face changes minutely. He likes when I touch him.

“A woman’s then?” he asks, voice softer. When I don’t answer right away, he continues. “Because I can deal with you being with a woman. They offer what I can’t. But not a man, Ezra. I wouldn’t take too well to that.”

“We are not together, Kaspian.”

He reaches down to rub my crotch. “I know, but we can still have fun. Let’s go.”

ChapterThirteen

By the time I show up to Kaspian’s house, he’s already there, the lights inside shining through every window. His figure crosses in front of one of them before the front door opens. He leans against the door jamb, watching me with a cocksure grin.

I exit the car and stroll up to him.

“Welcome back,” he says, barely containing his excitement.

“Shut up.”

He snorts and backs up, letting me in before closing and locking the door. “Drink?”

“I’m good.”

Kaspian picks up a mug from his end table and takes a sip. After replacing it, he says, “Well, follow me.”

My heart thumps in my chest as he leads me to the back of his house. Not out of fear, but excitement, because if I know anything about Kaspian it’s that he’s got a twisted way of thinking. He was gone for two weeks and now he’s back with a gift. I don’t take him for a chocolate and teddy bear kind of guy, so if my gut is right, I think I know what I’ll find.

Inside the laundry room there’s another doorway. He bends down to lift up the door, revealing a hatch.

“What am I about to find, Kaspian?” I ask, breaking the silence.

“You want me to ruin the surprise?”
