She bites her lip as if in thought then sighs. “I will take it.”

I nod, taking her details and typing them in. “Great. That’s all done for you.”

“Did you want to get a drink later?” she blurts changing the subject. I bite back a smirk. Now we are getting to the real reason she is here.

“I’m busy.” My words are clipped but it doesn’t deter her.

“Well, if you change your mind, I work the bar over at Fireside. First drinks on me.” she winks before spinning and sashaying out.

I scrub a palm down my face, feeling guilt towards my little cupcake. I don’t want to go out with the blonde whose name I can’t remember but technically, I can do what I like. I am a single man. But for how long? I don’t know what Eve and I are yet, but I know I want to pursue it. She does something to me, that I can’t explain and no matter how forward the blonde is, my cock doesn’t even twitch in her presence.

Has my little cupcake broken me for any other woman?

It seems she has.

I smirk as I remember the events from earlier. Her pleasuring herself. Me jerking off and coming harder than I ever have.

Yeah, she may not be mine yet.

But she will be by the time the holidays are over.

Chapter7

Eve

“What time should I be at the school on Saturday?” my mother asks over the phone I am holding between my ear and shoulder as I finish frosting the last of my cakes.

“It starts at three. I need to be there for twelve so I can set up. Can you grab Myla around eleven thirty?”

“Of course, sweetheart. I am looking forward to spending time with my favorite girl.”

“And here I was thinking I was your favorite.” I tease.

“Sorry sweetie, but Myla beats you on that. She is a grandma’s girl through and through.”

I chuckle. “I know. I know. Thank you for all that you do for her. For us. I couldn’t do it without you or dad.”

“There is nothing to thank us for, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We love you both.” My heart warms at the love in her voice.

“Thanks mom. I will talk to you later.” We say our goodbyes before I end the call.

Dropping my cell to the counter, I pop the frosting tube on the cooling rack as I start counting finished cakes. Eighty-six. Only another one hundred and fourteen to go. I better get back to it. Picking up my piping tube, I start to frost when Myla calls out.

“Mommy,” she shouts from the lounge.

Blowing out a breath, I stop what I am doing and move towards her in the lounge. I find her sat on the couch as she watches some animation on the television. “Yeah baby?”

Her little head snaps to me. “Can you watch this with me?”

My chest tightens at the hope in her voice. I spend as much time as I can with my daughter but these past few days, the holidays in general, are always a busy time with baking for me so we haven’t been able to do as much together. Despite having work to do, I could never deny her. My little girl comes first. The cakes can wait till later when she is wrapped up in her bed.

Smiling, I close the space between us and drop down beside her on the couch. Getting comfortable beside her, she lays her head on my lap and pulls a blanket over her small pajama covered body. We sit in silence as the Christmas movie plays on screen and I play with her hair. I don’t know how long we stay like that, but I am so tired, my eyes start to droop.

“Mommy?”

My eyes snap open, landing on my mini me. “Yes sweetheart?”

“Do you think I have been a good girl this year?”
