Chapter1

Eve

“You need to fix this Eve. When we decided on who would be responsible for what, it wasyouwho insisted on taking care of booking a Santa. I knew you couldn’t be trusted. I knew I should have done it myself, but oh no, you insisted. And guess what? A week before the school holiday fair, we don’t have the most important person. How do you think the kids will feel if they can’t see Santa? How do you think Myla, your own daughter will feel if she can’t see Santa?” Delilah, head of the PTA, continues to berate me as if I don’t feel shit enough about the situation as it is. The irony is, I did my part. I hired a Santa and even purchased my own elf costume to play that role myself and now because of circumstances out of my control, I am being treated like a villain. It wasn’t my fault that he canceled. No matter how much I cried, argued, and begged he won’t take a couple of hours out of his day to do the assignment he was booked for. Now if I don’t fix it, I am going to have a whole school of children upset and it will all be my fault. Tears fill my eyes at the thought.

“I will Delilah. I promise we will have a Santa. It…” I whisper, trailing off when my eyes land on my next-door neighbor. Jesus, he is about the hottest man I have ever seen. Tall, muscular, dark hair, green eyes, and arms full of tattoos. He moved in around three months ago, causing a stir amongst the women in this neighborhood. I can’t blame them. He is every woman’s fantasy come to life. From the moment he moved in next door, he made an effort to get to know me and my daughter even when I blush and turn into an idiot every time he talks to me.

He owns a tattoo parlor and looks like a bad boy whilst I am a single mom, running a home baking business and trying to do all she can for her six-year-old daughter. We couldn’t be more different if we tried. But for some reason, I am drawn to him. And I don’t know whether he feels the same or if he is just being nice and pitying me but he has even given me a pet name…

“It’s what Eve?” Delilah sighs in exasperation. For a minute, I forgot she was there. I open my mouth to answer when Bennett’s gaze moves from his truck to me. A smirk curves his lips and seeming to decide something he drops his rucksack into the bed of the vehicle and makes his way over to me. My cheeks heat and Delilah’s shouting down the line brings me back to my conversation.

“Nothing. I will fix it. I’ve gotta go. Bye.” I end the call as Bennett steps in front of me.

“Cupcake.” He greets before frowning. “Have you been crying?”

“What?” my fingers touch the skin under my eyes, feeling the wetness from my tears. “Oh, sorry, this is embarrassing.” I wipe the tears from my cheeks.

“What’s wrong?” he asks, concern lacing his voice.

“It’s silly. Really.” I insist.

“Tell me.” it’s a demand.

I sigh, blowing out a breath. “I was in charge of hiring the Santa for the holiday fair at Myla’s school and he canceled. It’s a week away and he canceled, and I need to find someone else. But it’s not that easy. Have you ever tried finding a Santa twelve days before Christmas?” my voice pitches and I hear the panic.

Bennett smiles, his hands coming up and cupping my face. My breath hitches in my throat. He smells so good, feels so good, that I almost lean into him and purr like a cat. It’s been so long since I was intimate with a man. Since a man has touched me. “Say no more. I volunteer as tribute.”

“W-what?” I stutter and blink.

He smiles, the look sending a pulse straight between my legs. “I’ve got you cupcake. Give me the details and I will make sure I am covered at work. I will head into town and find a Santa suit today, okay?”

I nod, his big palms restricting the movement. “O-okay.”

He chuckles. “See, no need to panic. We fixed it.” He releases me, winks, and spins, throwing over his shoulder. “I will stop by later cupcake.” I frown after him in shock as butterflies invade my stomach and my panties grow wetter. I shake my head of the fog he seems to have filled it with. Jesus, I have never had this reaction to a man before, not even Myla’s dad. And the thought of Bennett in a Santa’s outfit? Damn.

I will be fighting with the children to sit on Santa’s knee.

Chapter2

Bennett

The buzzing of my tattoo gun fills my mind along with thoughts of my hot little next-door neighbor. Eve. Or cupcake as I have named her. In the months since I moved in, I have got to know her some, even if she is a little guarded. She is a single mom to an adorable six-year-old girl and runs a cake business from her home. Not the usual type I would go for, but there is just something about her.

From the moment she brought a box of cupcakes over as a welcome gift and I set eyes on her, I knew I had to have her. Not only does she have the most beautiful face I have ever seen, with her blue eyes, full lips, pixie features and innocent face. But she has long dark hair that I want to wrap around my fist and a tight little body that I want to run my lips over. It’s more than just physical attraction though. She is kind, honest, special. Different to what I am used to but everything I seem to want.

The girl in my chair shifts breaking me from my thoughts. Her hips rise slightly as I tattoo a heart on her pubic bone. I glance at her, she smirks. “You know, this might be easier if I take my panties off. I wouldn’t mind if your free hand slipped a little further down south.” She purrs and I resist rolling my eyes. This is exactly the kind of woman I am used to. Forward. Easy. A year ago, I may have taken her up on her offer. Bleach blonde hair. Pouty lips. Big tits. But today it’s just not doing it for me. Not when I have my sweet little innocent cupcake on my mind.

“I don’t think so.” I turn off my gun and push away on my roller stool. “You’re done. Let me get you cleaned up.” I grab up my cleaning kit, moving back towards her and wiping her over with antibacterial wipes.

She grips her panties, pulling them tight so I can see her pussy lips. When my eyes go there, she moans. It would be so easy. I could release my cock from my jeans, climb on top of her and thrust inside. But even the thought of it makes me feel queasy, makes my dick deflate. “A little lower. I think I could come just from you touching me.” she pants, her hips now grinding towards me.

Pulling my hand away. I clear my throat. “Stop. It’s not going to happen.” Peeling off my gloves, I chuck them in the trash along with the wipes. “Get dressed. I will meet you out front.”

She hisses something behind me, but I don’t care. I am out of that room and away from her in a flash and ringing up her bill. Around five minutes later, she is in front of me, that same seductive smirk on her face as she chews her bottom lip. “That will be sixty dollars.” I say professionally but curtly.

She smiles, her hand going to her jeans as she pulls out a stack of bills. Counting out the money owed, she passes it to me. “So how about a drink sometime?”

I am shaking my head even before she finishes her sentence. “I don’t think so.”
