He shakes his head, making me frown. “I’ll wait out here. This is the closest DMV to the school. What if any of the other students have the same idea and turn up? I don’t want to be seen with you in there, foryoursake. It would look weird if we were here together. We couldn’t explain it on the off chance someone that knows us does show up.”
I nod because he’s right. How could I be so stupid? “Okay. Wait here. Hopefully, I won’t be too long.” With that, I shut the door and head inside with my documents to obtain my license.
An hour and a half later, I have my license. It took forever waiting in the queue, then filing the paperwork. I’m just glad it’s done, even if I feel bad that Asher has been waiting outside in his car.
Opening the door, I get in the car and look at my man. His brow arches in silent question. A smile curves my lips. “I got my license. Sorry it took so long.”
He grins. “Well done, angel. You’ll be on the road before you know it. Don’t apologize, I know how these places work. And anyway, I managed to win a couple thousand dollars while I was waiting. Money for your new car.”
I fall back into my seat. “You don’t have to do that, you know? I would rather buy my own.”
Gripping my hand, he squeezes. “We’ve already discussed this, and it’s non-negotiable. Now, let’s go car shopping.”
* * *
I am the proud owner of a black Audi Q2.
I didn’t really want something so extravagant, but Asher insisted I have it. He talked me through the safety of having a bigger car and how he wouldn’t accept me having anything less. If I wasn’t safe, then he would continue to drive me. Those were his words. I’m not complaining; I absolutely love my new wheels. Never in a million years did I think I would ever own a brand-new car, or something so nice, but now I do. Asher made sure all the paperwork is in my name, even though he’s the one who paid for it.
While we were there, he also decided to upgrade his car and went for the bigger version of mine. We drive away in a brand-new Audi SQ5. It’s black, to match mine—Asher insisted on us having the same color—and suits him perfectly. I relax back in the soft buttery leather seats, letting out a contented sigh. “Thank you,” I say, rolling my head to look at his side profile.
He glances at me. “No need to thank me, angel. I wanted to do this for you. I want to look after you,” he murmurs.
“I know but I appreciate it. You didn’t have to buy me a car, Asher.” I want to show my thanks, but I also don’t want him to think that I’m with him for what he can give me, for his money. “I don’t want you to think I’m using you, that I’m a gold digger,” I blurt.
A hearty laugh bursts free from his mouth, and he shakes his head. “Angel, out of all the things I think about you, that is not one of them. I think we both know you’re not with me because of that.”
“What do you think about me?” I can’t help but ask.
He side-eyes me, a smirk tugging at his lips. “I think you are beautiful. Amazing. The strongest person I have ever met. The best thing that ever happened to me. Mine.”
My heart rate kicks up behind my ribcage at his words, but, at the same time, a calm I have never known washes over me. This man. This amazing, kind man who I am definitely in love with, that could have anyone he wants, and yet he chooses me. “I love you.” The words are out before I can stop them.
His head whips around to fully face me. I’m slightly worried that he isn’t focusing on the road and that we might crash, but then he smiles. It’s so breathtaking, I forget everything in that moment, and all that exists is him and me. I am so in love with him, it both scares and excites me. “I love you too, angel. So fucking much.”
I let out a shuddery breath at his words. It’s been a long time since someone told me they loved me. A shy smile curves my lips. “Good. But please concentrate on the road before you get us killed. I would like to show you how much I love you when we get home, and I can’t do that if we get into a wreck.”
He chuckles but does as I say. “I will never let you get hurt, Remi. I would die before anything, or anyone, touched you. But you’re right, let’s go home. I want to fuck you nice and slow and show you exactly how much you are mine.”
ChapterTwenty-Five
ASHER
Those words.
Those three little words.
No words in my twenty-six years on this earth have ever sounded so amazing. So right.
And it’s all because of whose mouth they came from.
She loves me.
My angel loves me.
If I’m honest, I have been at that point for a while now. I just held back on saying them because I didn’t want to scare her. No more holding back now. I am going to show her how much I love her. I’m going to possess every single inch of her perfect mind, soul, and body until I am all that she sees, just like I only see her.
Pulling up to my house, I’m out of my new car and have my angel inside before she can blink. She chuckles as I drag her up the stairs and to our room. Throwing her softly on the bed, I crawl up her body, slotting myself between her legs, and smash my lips to hers. She moans into my mouth as I grind my rock-hard cock against her panty-covered pussy. My hand snakes down, slipping beneath the material. Breaking the kiss, I look down at her. “You are fucking soaked for me, angel.”
