I nod and give him a nervous smile. “Yes, I’m okay, but can you answer me as to why you’re here?”
“Like Rory said, we’re not about to miss you getting married.”
“But . . .”
Finn holds a hand up and shakes his head. “You let me deal with everything else. Things have come to light, and I won’t go into detail about it.”
I open my mouth to speak, but Olivia beats me to it. “I brought something for you,” she says changing the subject, holding a bag up as she looks me up and down. “You look beautiful, but I bought you something on the way here.” Reaching into the bag, she pulls out a beautiful knee-length wrap-around dress that would leave my arms completely bare. “I figured you’d want something new, and it even has something blue.” Turning the dress around, the back of it from the waist up had blue buttons.
“It’s very beautiful. You didn’t have to buy it for me.”
“You’re family, and after what you’ve been through, you deserve to have something of your own.” She smiles.
“I also have something for you. I’ve already given yours to Brake and Lawson,” Rory states and pulls out a box from his pocket and holds it out to me.
“What is it?” I ask, swallowing down my nerves.
“The grandparents’ wedding bands. I figured you could have the wedding bands for your men,” he mutters and looks to the ceiling. “Fuck I can’t believe this shit,” he tells the ceiling before bringing his gaze back to me. “The way I figured you could have the wedding bands, and I get the engagement ring and Grandma O’Hara’s wedding band. Yours is Grandma Brisbane’s wedding band.”
My eyes feel as if they’re about to pop out of their sockets as I whip my head around to look from Rory to Finn. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah, we both agreed they should be yours.” Finn nods.
“Thank you,” I whisper.
“Right,” Olivia speaks up and steps forward. “Both of you with dicks out of here. Faye needs to change, and her makeup is already perfect so that doesn’t need to be ruined.”
Both Rory and Finn leave the room, but not before Finn pulls Olivia into his arms and kisses her deeply.
Once they’re gone, Olivia helps me, and soon enough, I’m ready to get on with the ceremony. Mostly because I miss Jax and Lawson. And we’re about to make it official. All three of us are in this together as one.
Tonight is about us celebrating, tomorrow is a new day and we’ll be able to figure out what’s going to happen from there.
CHAPTERFIFTEEN
BRAKE
Two days of no drama. It’s also been two of the best damn days I’ve had in a long time.
After the ceremony we partied with everyone and simply enjoyed ourselves, but I couldn’t wait to get that damn dress off Faye, neither could Lawson. By the time we’d gotten to the hotel, we decided to get for the night, I’d already decided to tear the damn thing off her. Between Lawson and me, it was a good thing she had other clothes to put on when it was time to check out.
Seeing her walk toward Lawson and me was a sight I’ll forever have burned in my brain and will never forget. Fury officiated the ceremony between the three of us. Faye and I got married, and Lawson, she, and I committed to each other. There was no going back, not that I would even do that. The two of them are a part of me.
We’d decided to stay in the hotel for more than just one night. Lawson and I intended on going somewhere else, but the hotel was perfect enough for the three of us. Rather than going out, we stayed in the entire time, not dressing for anything other than to slip on a pair of sweats long enough to get the door when we ordered room service.
Now we’re heading over into Mississippi to where Lawson’s new club is being built. His right-hand man, Reed, called and asked him to come to handle a situation he didn’t want to deal with.
Faye’s in the car with Lawson while I follow behind them on my bike. This will also be the first time either of us see the club he’s remodeling. Over the past two days, he’d explained what they were doing to the building. I did suggest he get Fuse to wire up the security system or bring in Nora’s brothers from Virginia. He’d informed me he’d think about it, but he’s got his own guys.
I have a feeling we are gonna have to talk about this. I gotta be able to know he’s safe and shit. I get this is his thing, his business, but he’d be the same way if the cards were reversed. I’m sure of it. I just don’t want to come across like a fucking pussy talking about his safety. I also won’t do it while in front of others. Faye’s one thing, but when it comes to respect in front of others that’s another.
It doesn’t take as long as I thought it would to get to the club, and I’m surprised by the fact Reed’s outside waiting alongside some brunette dressed in a form fitting dress. Definitely not something I’d expect to see on a woman outside a club being remodeled. Taking in the expression on Reed’s face, he’s none too happy.
I pull up next to the passenger door of Lawson’s car. After all the bullshit that’s gone down, I’ll put myself in front of both Faye and Lawson. I don’t give a fuck. Something’s about to happen, I can feel it, and I know I’m not gonna like it. Regardless, I intend to make sure nothing causes trouble for either of them.
“What’s going on, Reed?” I ask as Lawson opens his door.
“Brake.” Reed nods, his shades covering his eyes.
