“Don’t know, but I’m guessing she’s dead.” Fuse shrugs.
“Eugene and Benoit are her sons,” I remark. “According to them, she was a spineless bitch and committed suicide.”
“So, what do we do now?” Lynch sits forward and cocks his head in our direction.
“I’m gonna call Tracker. They need to know what’s going on,” Chains says. “This all started again when Victoria had Jamie.”
“Think it’s a good idea to bring them into this?” Pitch Black asks.
“You heard Brake last night, and that bastard Benoit confirmed it. They’ll come for us. Victoria is my sister. For all we know, they could go after her first.” Chains slams his fist on the table and glares. “I don’t want any more trouble for her. Shit, she and the others have been through just as much bullshit as our women. But they need to know because this shit is bigger than just us. My gut tells me we need to be on our toes with them and not let our guard down.”
At least he gets the seriousness of this shit because it’s going to get a hell of a lot worse once Perrin finds out about Charlotte and it won’t take him long if he hasn’t already found out.
Church continues as we all mull over the information Fuse and Brielle had dug up, but also what Lawson gave them. It feels like an invasion of my past because of how much it involved me. Regardless of the fact it gets to me, I can’t stop them. They need to know what they’re up against.
“Brake,” Chains calls out, and I look up from the paper I’m glancing over to meet his eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Already told you when we held church, but gotta say it again, you didn’t have to do what you did for us, but I appreciate you protecting us,” he says. Tyres, Breaker, and Ryder all nod their agreement.
“You would have done the same thing.” I shrug, not making a big deal about it, but the fact is I never thought of them ever appreciating what I did.
“Maybe so, but you didn’t have to. You did, and I’m not gonna forget it. None of us will,” Chains states and leans back in his chair, picks up the gavel, and brings it down on the table. “For now, we’re done. Keep eyes open, and women and children are on lockdown . . .”
Before he can finish, there’s a knock on the door. Tiny opens it looking pale.
“What’s wrong?” Chains demands, coming out of his seat.
“I’m sorry to bother you guys, but you’re all needed. Finn and Rory are here with someone else, and none of them look happy. The one with them just gives me bad vibes,” she says softly.
Fuck.
I’m willing to bet the fucker with them is Gilroy Fitzpatrick, and that motherfucker chose the wrong time to come here.
Getting to my feet, I round the table and head for the doors, following several of my brothers out of the room and into the main room. I’m not surprised to find Lawson already in Gilroy’s face, and I make my way to them and step between the two as Chains speaks up.
“You want to explain what the fuck is going on here?” he demands darkly.
“I’m here for my fiancée,” Gilroy declares, puffing out his chest.
“You mean my wife?” I cock a brow and point over my shoulder at Lawson right behind me. “And his?”
“She is not yours or his anything. She belongs to me, and I’m not leaving without her,” Gilroy snarls.
“I informed him the other day that the contract was voided, and he refused to listen,” Finn explains, sounding annoyed. “He decided to fly all the way here fromGlendalough to try my hand.”
“He and my father refused to listen,” Rory adds.
“As I’ve told them both, my decision is final, and Tomas and Dean both agree,” Finn finishes.
I nod and step back, Lawson doing the same. I look at Finn and Rory and cock a brow. “Free for all?” I ask, hoping they understand what I’m saying. Because of what they’re saying, I can only hope he’s been pushed out, and that means I can beat the shit out of the motherfucker without precautions.
“Of course.” Finn grins and looks at Gilroy. “You want to push me when my decision is final. You are not head of anything right now, and you never will be. Not after you have deceived and played us all. Tomas told me to inform you that you are isolated and no longer welcome in Ireland or anywhere else.”
Grinning, I ball my hand into a fist and ignore the pain in my shoulder as I punch Gilroy in the jaw with enough force to send him back several feet. I didn’t get to have a hand in what happened with Eugene and Benoit, but I’ll have my fun with Gilroy.
