ButIwas not their perfect male.

I wasn’t perfect for them just as they were not perfect for me.

I was only perfect for Lizzy.

The sudden realization dawning on me was powerful and threatened to knock me off my feet.

A sudden sadness swept over me with the same strength. I was overcome with the need to be totally honest with these females.

I stepped forward. “Girls… I have something to tell you.”

They looked up at me as I regaled them with the story of how Lizzy and I had met — nothing surprising there as it was howallmales and females who attended the Seeding Facility met.

I spared them the details of the life-shattering sex and instead described the emotions Lizzy had made me feel, the unbridled passion and love and happiness… The sensations I could see by the look of longing across their faces that that was exactly what they were hoping for too — besides the Seed, of course.

They had to see that the bond I had with Lizzy was far deeper and more important than a quick romp.

Finally, my throat dry and hoarse, I spread my hands. “To mate with you would only be me trying to fill the hole she left within me. It wouldn’t be right — not for you or me. Only emptiness leads that way. And you deserve to be treated better than that.”

I let my words fall on them and smiled at them hopefully. No doubt they would see what I was trying to tell them, how I was trying to protect them and keep them from getting hurt. They would see the wisdom in my being honest that I couldn’t mate with them, not with these emotions rolling around inside me.

And so, it came as something of a surprise when Tentacles said:

“Block the door.”

The females were up and racing across the room before I could fully appreciate what she had just said. I only managed to make a vague grunt noise that sounded something like: “Huh?”

The two humanlike females got to the door first and barred it with their bodies, staring back at me with venom and aggression like I were a predator threatening their offspring.

“What are you doing?” I snapped. “Didn’t you just hear what I said?”

“Oh, we heard what you said alright,” Tentacles said. “That’s why we’re keeping you here for the entire Steyatt… until you Seed each and every one of us.”

“But… But…” I sputtered. “I don’t belong to you! I don’t belong to any of you!”

Tentacles got to her feet and approached me slowly, like a deadly gizzik in heat. “You have shared your Seed with one female already. You are in Steyatt. You are in your prime and you will mate with each of us in turn. Everyone knows that now is the best time for a male to impregnate a female.”

The females encircled me. NowIwas the prey.

“You’ll never stop me from getting out of here,” I said.

“I beg to differ,” Tentacles said. “You may be stronger than us but we are many. We only need to tire you out. After that, we will lash you to the bed and use you for our own purposes.”

My heart thundered in my chest. “Are you insane? I said no!”

“And we sayyes,”Tentacles growled.

I searched their eyes but in each I saw the same grim determination and not a whisker of weakness.

I turned and bolted for the door. My plan was as simple to predict as it was easy to foil.

Upside Down spun impossibly fast, catching my foot and sending me sprawling. I hit the ground hard and it felt like the whole room shuddered.

The females were on me in an instant, each lashing themselves to a limb and pinning it down.

Tentacles was right. I was very much stronger than each of them individually. As I hurled my limbs out, I sent each female flying. But the moment they landed on their feet, they rushed back and fastened themselves to me again.

It’s surprising how drained you feel after just a few minutes of wrestling this way. Within five minutes, I was so exhausted I could hardly move a muscle.
