I wanted to resume mating with Lizzy, not continue with superficial escapades.
“We have other females in Reserve,” the assistant said. “Many extremely gorgeous and fertile females.”
As if that was supposed to make any difference.
“They’re all last-minute additions. Many would have to wait until their next breeding cycle to be matched with a male… so I can assure you, they will be extremely… grateful to have you.”
My Steyatt growled in response. It was not picky with what female sated it, it was me that had become the picky one.
“Will I still get to choose which female will be mine?” I asked.
The assistant nodded. “Of course. They’re waiting for you in the Claiming Room now. And you can take your time. There will be no other males to disturb you.”
Because none of them lost their mate on the very first day of Steyatt! I wanted to snap at her, but I held tightly onto the reins of my anger. It wasn’t her fault Lizzy had been called away.
I nodded for her to lead the way back into the Facility.
“It’s very unfortunate your first mate had to leave,” she said. “Usually, we don’t let any interruptions occur during the Seeding.”
I grunted. “So why was I the lucky one?”
The assistant scanned her keycard on the display and the doors hissed open. “Because her father happens to be a very wealthy patron of the Seeding Program. Had it been anyone else, we never would have interrupted your Steyatt.”
Wonderful.
The assistant, no doubt picking up on my temper — and how could she not when I threw my scowl in her direction — remained quiet for the rest of the short journey to the Claiming Room.
The moment the doors opened, the females snapped to attention, their eyes focused on me and my approach.
I breathed in deeply, their scents filling my nostrils and my mind. My cock twitched — I was a male, after all — but the effect was not the same as the overriding power of Lizzy from earlier. And that despite being in the midst of a raving band of crazed alien males.
The females watched me expectantly, eyes wide, stances confident — nothing like the females from the earlier Claiming ceremony. As the assistant led me past, I ran my eyes over each of them.
There were four in total. It seemed unfair that so many beautiful females should pass through Steyatt without having a male to Seed them. They were each perfect examples of females in their prime and I admired each of their curves and toned muscles in turn.
Before I met Lizzy, any would have served. In their eyes, I saw a hunger my senses found mesmerizing. They weren’t allowed to approach me or to even say a word, but they opened their mouths and ran their tongues over their wide lips and kept their eyes fastened on me.
There wasn’t a coy one among them, their negligees barely staying in place.
Oh yes, they’re hungry for Seed all right…
I found it impossible to choose between them. Each time I thought I had decided on one, my thoughts immediately returned to Lizzy. They were each gorgeous in their own way, but not in Lizzy’s way. It felt unfair to compare them to her — no female could ever compare to a bonded mate — but that was the way it was.
A solution brought a twinkle to my eyes, a way for me to satisfy each of these females’ needs while also helping quell the sad and lonely heart in my chest at the sudden loss of my bonded mate.
“Can I speak with you for a moment?” I said to the assistant.
She nodded and took me to one side. I lowered my voice to a whisper and couldn’t help but glance at the females over the assistant’s shoulder. They continued those slow, seductive rumbas, eyes focused entirely on me as if there was no one else in the room.
My throat felt dry. “You said it was very unusual for a Steyatt to be interrupted the way mine was?”
“Extremely. In fact, I can only think of two other times it has ever happened, and I’ve seen thousands of matings.”
I nodded. “It doesn’t seem fair to me that these females should miss out on mating, especially since they all now have the hope that they might be Seeded… They would be devastated if they were turned down now. Like you said, I’m likely the only chance they have at being Seeded during this mating cycle…”
The assistant nodded but didn’t seem to understand the full implications of what I was saying.
I sighed. “So… why don’t I take themall?”
