This one, however… had a decidedlysourtaste to it.
I led Lizzy through the empty hallways to the large ornate drawing room at the front of the mansion.
I entered the room first and checked the corners to ensure there was no danger.
Then I turned my eyes to the figure standing before the roaring fireplace.
He was a tall Elkik with powerful polished horns.
Even as he turned, before I locked eyes on him, I knew who he was.
I would recognize his scent anywhere — even if I had never met him in person before.
My scales shivered at the sight of him, my muscles tensing and poised to fight.
But the figure didn’t get to introduce himself.
Instead, Lizzy’s hands rose to her shocked mouth and gasped his name:
“Blor!”

BLOR
I wasn’t entirelysure she would recognize me — after all, we had only spent a little time together, and, as magical as it had been, it wasn’t like we had gotten really close to each other.
Well, Ihadbeen inside her… it was tough to get much closer than that!
But the moment she entered the large drawing room and saw me, she froze, coming to a standstill.
Her eyes ballooned to twice their normal size and her whole body shook.
She screeched my name and launched herself across the room.
Up until that moment, I wasn’t sure how she would react upon seeing me.
After all, after she left me at the Seeding Facility, we both had been left with the impression we would never see each other again.
Seeing me here, now, in this place, could have all the hallmarks of me being a crazed stalker.
I needn’t have worried.
She ran into me without slowing down and almost knocked me off my feet.
