“She’s so new, I haven’t had time to truly find out,” my Master said. “But I’m sure we’ll know soon enough.”

“Have I told you my favorite way, Sebastian?”

Sebastian. That was the man’s name. Sebastian stiffened beside me, and it sounded like he was speaking through his teeth. “To make someone scream? No, I don’t believe you have.”

Delano shrugged. “I find a scalpel usually works the best if you want the finest cuts and the smallest pieces. What I carve depends on the day, and what the slave hates the most.”

I didn’t move. What the actual fuck. That’s what he did to people? I already knew the men in this room were evil, but that? Was this a serial killer convention?

“While you’re fucking them, of course,” Sebastian said.

“Of course,” Delano inclined his head. “Nothing feels quite as good as pussy squeezing you so hard it’s trying to eject you from their body. Except maybe forcing your way back in.” He laughed, and I turned closer to Sebastian, my mind going blank with horror. The other man had been right. They might not be good Alphas, but they weren’tthat.

“You always did have… unique tastes, Christopher.”

“You should join me sometime. Maybe your new slave would enjoy being taken by the two of us together.”

Sebastian’s grip on me now was painful, and I liked it, because it meant he wasn’t letting me go. “As Derek told you, she’s not for sale. But thank you for the offer.”

“Everything is for sale once you find the price. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sure to find it.”

Delano walked away, and I heard Sebastian mutter, “Over my dead body.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, turning further into Sebastian’s suit. His scent was intoxicating. Just like the one he called Derek and the third, nameless Master. It was electrifying and terrifying, because I knew what it meant. Everyone knew what it meant.

A scent-match. Rare enough that finding your match was a thing to be celebrated under different circumstances. They made meperfume. If I’d stumbled into these three men at the bar last night, on the verge of my heat, I’d be over the fucking moon.

As of now? I didn’t even know how long I would survive.

“Will your legs hold you now, Omega?”

The low shiver of his voice rolled across my skin and gave me chills. I nodded yes. “Good,” he said. “I can’t hold you like this while we walk, but you will follow me, and I expect you to stay close. Understood?”

“Yes, Master.” The words slipped out nearly automatically.

His arm slowly came out from around me, but it lingered on my skin. “Let’s go.”

We walked back down toward the front of the theatre again, toward the stairs where I’d entered in the first place. We came close to a group of men, and one of them turned toward us. “Seems like you’re hiding some of the goods for yourself, Sebastian.”

He laughed, lighter than before. “Gotta have some perks of the job, right?”

When he stepped back, I went up the stairs first. Through a door and into a dark hallway, followed by an elevator with a keypad. He entered a code, and weflewupward. How tall was this building? I didn’t realizeCatenawas in one of the downtown skyscrapers, but it seemed that way right now.

The elevator opened directly into an apartment. Agorgeousapartment. It seemed strange that there was daylight pouring through the windows. There weren’t any downstairs, and it still felt like night. But the sun was setting, painting the place in orange and gold.

Sebastian walked over to the sunken, lush living room and pulled a giant pillow from beside one of the couches and plopped it on the floor. He pointed at it. “I want you on that pillow. And when I come back, I expect you to still be there.”

I walked to the pillow and sat down, sinking into it. It was big enough and fluffy enough I felt like I was falling into a cloud. As soon as I was on the pillow, Sebastian turned and left.

Of course I wanted to get up and explore and figure out what the hell the Syndicate wanted, maybe fromthesemen. But I also didn’t know who I was dealing with, and the potential consequences of being caught snooping didn’t seem worth it.

Instead, I let myself curl up on my side and close my eyes. Despite being drugged and unconscious for almost a day, I was exhausted. Part of it was the intense emotions and fear, and the other part was my coming heat. My hormones were close to the surface, begging me to give in to them.

And fuck, did my body want to give in to the three men who now held me captive. Scent matched. I must be the unluckiest Omega in the world to find my scent-matches after getting fucking kidnapped.

The air was cold in here, colder than the theatre. I didn’t move, just burrowed myself deeper into the pillow, trying to create a little pocket of warmth for myself as I let myself drift.

I must have fallen asleep, curled up in a ball. Because it was dark outside when I heard thedingof the elevator opening once more. My eyes were still shut, and I left them that way. If they thought I was asleep, what would they say?
