“No, princess. We’re done with that. Anything we do now will just be you and us.” He lifted my wrist to his lips, kissing the slender cuff.
“Good.”
Drying me off, Derek wrapped me in a fluffy towel before giving me one of his shirts. “Believe me when I say I wish we could spend the night in the nest fucking you. But it’s almost over now. We have a lot to do before the takedown tomorrow.”
“Like what?”
“Like things that are boring as fuck,” Nick said. “But you can stay with us. Especially since we need to feed you.”
“Where will you be?” I asked.
Sebastian swept me off my feet and carried me toward the kitchen. “Our office downstairs, for the most part. But when we’re finished, I plan on sleeping in the nest with you.”
Words nearly poured from my lips, and I held them back. But my Alpha saw and pinned me with a stare. “What was the thought, little one?”
My whole body flushed pink with embarrassment, and I already knew this was part of the confusion I’d been telling him about. “Can I sit at your feet?”
He stopped in the middle of the hallway and stared at me until he lifted me up higher in his arms and kissed the hell out of me. “You don’t have to sit at my feet, Selena. But if that’s something you want, and it makes you feel safe, you never have to fucking ask.”
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
____________
DEREK
Selena’s head rested on my shoulder as I cradled her in my lap in our office. The last few hours had been nothing but communication between us and headquarters. Raids would be conducted across the country, all at the same time, or within minutes of each other.
It needed to be as coordinated as possible in order to take down as many pieces of the network as we could. Everything we’d done, and everything the Betas and other undercover agents had gathered, had been translated into a sprawling plan with more arms than a centipede.
We were all glad it was coming to an end, and we didn’t have to do much. In fact, it was to our benefit to stay out of the spotlight.
Our Omega had spent some time at our feet, something I would never fucking take for granted, and something we could now allow her to do comfortably and gently. But she was tired after everything she’d been through in the last two weeks—everything we put her through. And when her head began to droop, I picked her up and cradled her as we listened to the plans and communicated anything else that was needed. More than anything, we were live sources of information.
Sebastian was in the middle of cleaning his gun, making sure it was ready for anything, because we would be back up. Three blocks away, the strike team that would hitCatenawas getting ready in the same way.
Nick watched behind the big screens while I held our girl. Her fingers curled into my shirt, pulling me closer even while sleeping.
“That’s all, everyone. Use the chains of command and keep your lines as clear and open as possible.”
“Jensen,” Nick said. “Stay back?”
“Yeah.”
Seb paused in his polishing, and we all waited until there was a heavy sigh from the screen. “In case no one has already told you this, we owe you guys a hell of a lot. And if anyone—anyone—tries to give you shit about getting anything you want, even if it’s the most ridiculous flamingo colored car, for the rest of your lives, you send them to me.”
Nick chuckled. “We appreciate that. You’re on with Derek and Seb, and one very sleepy Omega.”
I heard a sound of surprise. “Is there a story there?”
“There is, but not for a night before this is finished. Or at least not completely.”
“What can I do for you?”
Nick paused, his eyes falling on Selena. “We need some information, but it is incredibly delicate, because as usual, there could be lives at stake. I need your promise that you’ll handle this with absolute discretion.”
“You have it,” Jensen said.
“Have you ever heard of the Underground Omega Syndicate?”
