Page 2 of Seducing Selena

I frowned. “Where?”

He smirked. “That new club.Remember?”

Suddenly, I did. It wasnota club or bar like this one. He thought it would be fun to go to a sex club. And this one,Catena, was more than that. I’d spent some time on their website after he mentioned it.

Chains and handcuffs and other, darker things which I would never admit to anyone I was curious about. Going to a club where people were just… doing that? There was no way. I couldn’t.

“I’ll pass.”

“Selena,” Kyle said. “The way you’re blushing tells me you want to go.”

I shook my head. “I’m not saying never, but not this weekend. I need rest before the heat, anyway.”

He shrugged. “Well, I’ll be going. I cannot wait.”

“Have fun.”

“You know I will.” He waggled his eyebrows. “Gonna find an Alpha who will—”

I held out a hand. “Kyle, you know I love you, but I do not need to hear what kind of kinky sex you’re looking for.”

Kyle laughed. “Fine. But I know you’d like it.”

I made a face. “And what, exactly, makes you think I’d enjoy a sex club?”

“I don’t know about a sex club, but I know that every time Dr. Avila gives you an order, you blush like crazy and do what he says without any questions.”

“Oh my god,” Gloria gasped. “You totally do.”

I tossed back a big swig of my beer. “Being good at my job doesn’t mean… whatever you’re saying it means.”

It didn’t matter that they were right. Dr. Avila and the way he said thingsdidsomething to my insides, but it didn’t mean anything. They teased me about it all the time, but it was nothing.

“Sure,” Kyle said. “Whatever you say.”

“I’m going to go to the bathroom,” I said. “Watch my bag.”

“Sure.”

The bathroom was so much quieter than the rest of the bar, highlighting my exhaustion. Thereliefof the silence? Yeah, I needed to go home and get the fuck out of here. A bath and bed were calling my name. I probably wouldn’t start my heat until Monday, so I would have a couple nice days to relax first.

I washed my hands and made my way back to the table. My purse was still there, and Gloria had tossed her wallet inside. I grabbed it and gave it back to her. “I’m gonna go home. Sorry, guys, I’m just not feeling it tonight. But I’ll check in with you when I can and see you next week.”

Kyle nodded. He pushed me to stay before, but we all knew each other well enough now to know whennotto push. “Have a good heat.”

I forced a smile. “I’ll try. Keep an eye on Anna for me?”

“Of course. I’ll text you updates.” Gloria stood up and hugged me. “Call me if you need anything else, okay?”

“Okay.” I hugged her back.

Of course, I needed more than either of them could give me. What I really needed was someone to make me feel not so fucking lonely this entire week.

Curse of being a nurse. You could love your job or love your family. It was hard to do both, and my friends would agree.

Tonight? I was so tired I didn’t even think I could manage the bath. Not the long kind of bath I liked. That could be tomorrow. A rinse off shower was all I could make it through.

I tossed my bag on the kitchen counter, and of course it fell over, spilling everything. Why was it that things made themselves messy whenever you were least in the mood for it? Sighing, I started shoving everything back in the bag… what the hell?
