Amidst all the shouting and carrying on, the doorbell rang, and Elsie giggled when Savage yelled, “Bones! The pizza is here!”
"Coming!" I hated that we'd been interrupted, but there was little I could do about it. I brought my hand up to Elsie's face, then softly raked my knuckles along her cheek. "I'll get rid of them."
"No, you don't have to do that." She raked her teeth across her bottom lip. "It’s fine. Besides, the game won’t lastthatlong.”
“You sure?”
She nodded, then said, “Positive.”
The doorbell rang again, and Wrath immediately started shouting, “Yo! Bones! The pizza...”
“I said I was coming!”
Elsie followed me back into the living room and returned to her spot on the loveseat while I answered the door. I’d barely given the driver his cash when Savage and Wrath came rushing up behind me. They greedily grabbed the boxes of pizza and carried them over to the table. Wrath opened one of the boxes, and they were about to dive in when I told them, “You know, I’ve got plates.”
“Yeah, my bad.”
Wrath sat down, and they waited as I went to the kitchen to grab some napkins and plates. When I returned, we all loaded up on pizza and wings, then sat back and watched the game. Every so often, I would glance over at Elsie, and time and time again, I found her staring at me with a heated look in her eyes. Seeing that she wanted me just as much as I wanted her had my cock throbbing against my jeans.
I wanted nothing more than to toss her over my shoulder and carry her to my bedroom, but with the guys sitting right next to us, that wasn’t an option. So, I did the only thing I could. I sat back and watched the game, biding my time until Elsie and I were finally alone.
It was a tough game, but in the end, the Lakers won. The guys were feeling the need to celebrate, so I wasn’t surprised when Savage suggested, “We should head down to Danvers and play a couple of rounds of pool.”
“I’m in.” Wrath finished off his beer, then stood and started for the door. “You two coming?”
“No. I think we’re gonna pass.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, seriously.”
Savage studied me for a moment, then shrugged and mumbled, “Okay. Suit yourself.”
Without any further argument, Wrath and Savage said their goodbyes to Elsie and then, they were on their way. They’d barely walked out when Elsie hopped up and started collecting all the empty pizza boxes. “I can get that later.”
“It’s no problem.”
She didn’t even look at me as she skirted past me and headed into the kitchen. I grabbed a few empty bottles from the table, then followed her into the kitchen. I tossed the empty beers into the trash and was about to walk over to Elsie when she darted into the living room for more trash.
When she returned, I couldn’t help but notice that the heated look in her eyes from earlier was gone and had been replaced with a look of apprehension. Curious about what was going on with her, I asked, “Hey, is everything okay?”
“Yes... No.” She tossed everything into the trash, then whipped around to face me. “This is just our second date.”
“Yeah. And?”
“I really love being with you, and I don’t want to mess it up.”
“You’re worrying over nothing, Elsie. There’s nothing you could do that would ever mess this up.”
“I wish that was true, but it’s not.”
“I don’t understand.”
I felt like I was punched in the gut when she admitted, “I know about you and Lacy... And Makayla and the other hang arounds.”
I didn’t have to ask. I knew exactly what she was talking about.
There was a time when I thought I’d never be with a woman. I was socially awkward and quiet. I didn’t know how to talk to a beautiful woman, much less how to pleasure them, so I kept my distance. But the girls made it their mission to pull me out of my shell, and after one too many drinks, I found myself in bed with Makayla.
