“Sure.”
I thought we were about to head to the movies, but instead, Wyatt led me outside to his backyard. I had no idea what we were doing until I saw all the little white lights and the fire. Not only had he strung lights from every tree, but he’d also set up a movie screen and a projector. It was the most romantic thing I’d ever seen. As I gazed at all the twinkling white lights and the flickering fire, I whispered, “Oh, Wyatt. This is so beautiful.”
“You like it?”
“I love it.” I followed him over to the fire, and once I was seated, Wyatt offered me a blanket and a fresh glass of wine. “I can’t believe you did all this.”
“I wanted to do something special for you.”
“Well, you definitely did that.”
A proud smirk crossed his face as he walked over and started setting up the projector. As soon as theLost Boysappeared on the screen, I gasped, “You didn’t!”
“It’s one of your favorites, right?”
“It is!” I looked at the screen, then back at him. “I can’t believe you remembered.”
“It wasn’t all that hard. It’s one of my favorites, too.”
Once he had everything the way he wanted it, he came over and sat down next to me. He tossed one of the blankets over him, then nestled back in his chair. Even though we’d both seen the movie many times before, the flickering light of the fire and the twinkling of the little white lights made it feel like it was the first time.
We talked a little bit, shared our favorite moments of the movie and discussed other movies we wanted to see in the future, but mostly, we just sat back and enjoyed watching our favorite movie together.
When it was over, I helped him take down the screen, and we carried everything inside. I was waiting for him to finish putting everything away in the closet when I told him, “I really enjoyed the movie.”
“I did, too. We’ll have to do it again sometime.”
“I’d like that.”
He closed the closet, then turned to face me as he asked, “You ready to head back?”
It was late, but I’d had such an amazing night with him, and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I wasn’t sure how to tell him that, so I simply shook my head no.
He studied me for a moment, and like he could read my mind, he stepped closer and slipped his arm behind my back, inching me closer. Desire flashed through his eyes, and I knew the moment had finally come.
He was finally going to kiss me again.
I held my breath as he lowered his mouth to mine. His rough hands slid across my skin with reverence and possessiveness like I’d never known, and I could literally feel his passion pouring into me as he deepened the kiss. His fingertips twisted into my hair as he raked his teeth across my bottom lip, nipping me lightly.
And just like that, I was hit with a whirlwind of heat and desire, and I had to hold onto him to keep myself from becoming lost in a delicious haze of hormones and lust. Being in his arms was everything I’d imagined it would be and more. The more turned on I became, the more I imagined all the wicked things he could do to me.
His lips on my neck.
His greedy hands on my body.
The pleasure-filled orgasms he’d give me over and over again.
It wasn’t like me to have such thoughts—not like these, but it felt so good to have his mouth on mine, and I couldn’t get enough.
A wanton groan slipped through my lips as I inched closer, pressing my body against his. I’d never felt so consumed with need. I wanted him so much—more than I ever dreamed possible, and if his touch was any indication, he felt the same about me. Things were quickly getting heated, and I had a feeling they were only going to get more heated—which made me a little nervous.
It was only our first date. I wasn’t ready to take that step with him, so I placed my palms on his broad, muscular chest and gave him a gentle push as I stepped back, breaking our embrace. Concern flashed through his eyes as he asked, “Something wrong?”
“No... maybe,” I stammered. “It’s just a little fast.”
“We’ve known each other for six years. I wouldn’t say that’s exactly fast.”
“We’ve known each other, but we’ve never even been on a date before tonight. This is all new, and I don’t want to mess things up by moving too fast.”
