PILF? CILF?

“What the fuck is a PILF? CILF?”

“What are you talking about?”

I shake my head, a smile still ghosting my lips. I can’t tell him my girl thinks Peyton’s dad is a DILF. That could have so many repercussions. Although, I know Noah knows how people feel about his dad and father-in-law. Hearing it from his teammates might be a different story, though.

“Nothing,” I say while waiting for Kelsey to text back. “Just some crap Kels is saying.”

“You like her a lot, don’t you?”

I nod and turn toward where Noah sits in front of his locker. “I do, but I feel like shit is going to be complicated come Friday night. I shouldn’t have invited her.”

“Don’t you think she would’ve been hurt? What if she saw pictures from the event and all the other dates?”

“That’s the problem. What if Maggie’s friends say something offhanded to her or me?”

“Shit is going to happen whether you try to avoid it or not. You and Maggie had a very public relationship. It stands to reason people are going to say something stupid.”

“Did that ever happen with you and Peyton?”

Noah shakes his head. “Not really, but Peyton has been a fixture in my life forever. It’s not like she was new to the media. If that makes sense.”

“Yeah, it does.” I look back at my phone and see the chat bubbles pop up. “I just hope it’s not a total shit show this Friday.”

Kelsey Sloane

PILF – player I like to fu… CLIF – center I like to fu… I can keep going.

But yes, give her my number.

No need to keep going. I get what you’re putting down EILF

Kelsey Sloane

Clever!

Sometime around six,I decide to drive to Kelsey’s. Traffic’s a bitch. Bumper-to-bumper congestion, with pedestrians not giving a shit whether someone hits them or not. I lose count of how many times I honk at someone for darting in front of Rizzo. People see my Tesla and they don’t care. When they see my truck, they’re scared.

Barrett isn’t at the door when I finally get to the entrance to Kelsey’s building. The new doorman stops me, which honestly pleases me, but after the traffic hell I just went through to get here, I’m not in the mood. I should’ve never gone home first, or at least made plans with her. As it is, I’m surprising her and she may not take too kindly to it.

“May I help you?” the man asks as he steps in front of me.

I take a deep calming breath and remind myself he’s doing his job. “I’m here to see Kelsey Sloane.” I give him her apartment number, which he verifies on his phone.

“Please use the phone by the wall to call up to her.”

I go in and call her, knowing full well I should’ve done this before I made the rash decision to come over.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Kels.”

“Alex?”

“Are you expecting someone else?” I ask jokingly.
