Strong arms came around her. She leaned back into warmth, security and most of all love. “I adore you,” she whispered.

He placed a soft kiss on her head. “And I adore you.”

“So–” Her mother beamed. “How many do you want?”

“How many matzo balls?” Nick winked.

Her mother gave the smile of all contented mothers. “Children?”

And instead of cringing, Adrianna and Nick only smiled wider.

Epilogue

“Ican’t believe you fooled everyone.” Royce Livingston relaxed in the wingback chair, swirling the amber liquor in the cut crystal glass. The drink sparkled in the light from the massive marble fireplace, reflecting golden on the oversized mahogany furniture, plush sofas and priceless antiques. Scented with oak and the subtle fragrance of custom cologne, the chamber was opulence defined, underscored by classical music through a hidden speaker so crisp, it sounded as if they were in the pit.

It was typical luxury for the Billionaires of Miami, the moniker the press had dubbed their group. Yet while they’d been correctly deemed alpha billionaires, powerful men who controlled their worlds, their fans and followers missed one important facet: Their shared goal to better their world.

Royce lifted his glass. “No one discovered your true identity.”

“At least not for a while.” Dominick sipped from his own goblet. The thousand dollar a bottle brew tingled on his tongue. “You know how the story ends.”

“I’d say the story ended quite well,” Aidan Bancroft rubbed his hands together. “I must say, I am quite jealous of your fortune. You have a beautiful wife.”

The others nodded their agreement. It was quite a compliment, from men the whole world envied. Yet it was not the attainment of a relationship, for each of them were chased, but of the beautiful union he now shared.

With Adrianna, life was perfect.

His days were filled with delightful conversations and invigorating adventures, his nights, holding the woman he loved. Being with her was a journey, filled with more beauty than he could ever imagine. The present was a gift, the future destiny’s path. He couldn’t wait to see what it wrought.

His business had seen as much success, after they rid it of the corruption lurking within. Carlyle was now in prison, along with Dobbs and the other criminals who infiltrated it for personal gain. Knight Technology was once again one of the best companies to work for, along with Adrianna’s new venture, which was taking the computer world by storm. Together they were going to change the world – just like they had changed each other.

And although these men had almost all one could desire – wealth, power, fame – only he and Royce had found love. With their popularity, it wasn’t the lack of opportunity, yet a wariness that comes after being chased for so long. When these men found the right women, they would be the hunters.

“Cameron is also happy for you, not that he would ever admit it.”

Dominick nodded at the mention of the one member of their group not present. The billionaire lawyer portrayed nothing but power and control. “Wasn’t he supposed to attend tonight?”

Aidan frowned. “He texted me after his business meeting. He was skipping the early flight for a later drive, only they’re having massive storms right now.”

Dominick put down his glass. “He’s driving in dangerous conditions?” He grasped his cell phone and typed a message. He placed down the phone, yet his concern intensified, even as the conversation resumed. When the phone rang, he answered it on the first ring. “Knight here.”

“It’s me.” Cameron’s voice was low and hushed. Behind it, a thundering roar sounded. No,literalthunder.

“Is everything all right, Cameron? It sounds like a hurricane out there.”

“I’m fine.” Yet the words were a whisper, the tone urgent. Something was definitely happening.

“You don’t sound fine,” Dominick said bluntly.

“Alexander, are you all right?” Now a third voice spoke, afemaleone. “Did you take off your clothing?”

All concern fled. “Well, that explains it.”

“It’s not what you think.” The whisper was even lower this time. “I’m not here for an affair. I don’t even know her.”

“That would be worse.”

A low chuckle broke the sobriety. “I’m serious. You see, she’s under the impression I’m an actor she’s hired.”
