I groaned as my sister beamed.

She winked at me. “Looks like our Hunter is growing up and understands his alliances much better.”

“Nuts. I always looked forward to hearing the dirt from him.” I grinned, glancing at the glasses of juice.

I took the juice to the dining table and glanced at the beautiful view of the lake.

“I’ll tell you what’s going on with us if you tell me what’s going on there.” She tapped on her temple and then gasped. “Wait a second. It’s a girl. You’ve met someone, haven’t you?” My sister’s eyes widened.

I glanced at Hunter, Winter, and Brad and shook my head. “Nah.”

Winter chuckled. “You suck at lying.”

Brad nodded in agreement. “You do.”

Hunter climbed off the couch and wandered over to the table and sat down as the frittata was delivered.

“Uncle Shep is in love. Uncle Shep is in love.” My nephew grinned at me.

I cleared my throat and found my seat next to Hunter.

He hummed with the piece of bacon sticking out of his mouth.

“Are you sucking on that?” I grimaced, not wanting to see what it looked like.

Hunter pulled out the bacon to reveal a pink and floppy mess with holes.

Winter laughed. “You set yourself up for that one.”

I chuckled. “I suppose I did.”

As we all piled the food on our plates, I spotted Winter giving Brad a funny look.

“Okay. We all know that you only invite me over for food when you need me.” I smirked. “So, let me have it.”

“That’s not true,” Winter said, chuckling. “You come over on the holidays too.”

“And to watch soccer,” Brad added.

Hunter giggled and grabbed a spoon for the frittata his mom put on his plate.

I leaned over. “Wouldn’t a fork work better, buddy?”

He shook his head.

“Okay, then.” I glanced at my sister.

“What’s her name?” she tried again.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I took a sip of orange juice.

Winter grinned. “You have a twinkle in your eyes.”

I knew there was no getting out of this, so I set my napkin on the table and let out a groan.

“Mommy and Daddy said you were a manlore.” Hunter happily ate his food as Winter snorted orange juice out of her nose.

“They did, did they?” My brows rose, but I couldn’t help but laugh.
