CHAPTER 7
My father sent for me and told me about what had happened with Andrea. Christopher has always been a loose cannon, I usually expect him to go off half-cocked, but I never expected something like this.
Now, where my father and I had chosen caution, we instead have a wildcard in our midst.
I’ve been sent to appease Andrea with some presents indicative of her new freedom. I’m hoping to find her in a better mood than the one my father described.
I get to her room and knock twice before attempting to let myself in, only to find the key is now on the other side of the door. I knock three more times and wait.
When the door opens, it’s only a crack. Andrea glances up at me with eyes that look like she’s been crying, then turns and walks away. I guess that means—Come in.
I do exactly that, closing the door behind me and then following her to the couches by the television. I place the bag I’m holding on the large, centered coffee table. “I have some things for you.”
She curls herself on the three-seater, elbow on the armrest, chin resting in her palm and looks at me expectantly. Even like this, she looks delicious.
I chastise myself for the impure thoughts I feel. I’m almost twice her age. She definitely doesn’t make it into the half plus seven rule.
I sit on the other end, reach into the bag and pull out the big box. “A MacBook pro, because…well,” I smile, “you can do just about anything with it.”
Andrea forces down a tight smile.
I pick out the middle box. “An iPad, because…you know, reading in bed is so much easier.”
Her smile begins to grow, but still…she fights it.
I pick out the last box. “A new iPhone. I think if you sign into your iCloud, you’ll have everything from your previous phone.”
She raises her brow in shock. Yep…my father is really throwing caution to the wind here. I guess he feels like he owes her this.
I reach into my top pocket, “And last, a credit card for any purchases you need to make. Don’t go nuts, the limit is only $5000.”
“I think that’ll do,” she finally gives me a big smile, “my savings account only has $92 in it.”
“I know,” I smile back.
“So, do you feel like coming down to dinner with the family?”
She taps her chin with a finger, “Would anyone miss you if you didn’t show up?”
That’s astrangequestion. “Not really.”
She jumps up and I watch her head for the door—her ass looks great in those jeans.
“Sundays are sort of mandatory, but if we bump into each other during the week, that’s a bonus, so—”
She locks the door and starts back. The look on her face is nothing obvious, I don’t know what she’s doing, but I prepare myself.
The door is behind me so I have to turn around to face her as she straddles me and her tongue enters my mouth.
She tastes like peaches and cream—smooth and sweet.
I kiss her back, relishing the flavor.
It’s strange…when you can have anyone you want…then the one person you know you’re not supposed to have comes on to you first.
I kiss her back, but I leave her in control—she’s royalty.I’m just…me.
If I could…I’d put my hands in my pockets—because I want to take her every way I can.I have to control myself because I’ve wanted her from the moment I saw her.
